If there was ever an understatement, its the above entitled subject "Thanks". Its just that I don't have enough words to express my gratitude, as a Grandfather, father, animal lover, and just a male human being. I am frankly overwhelmed by your kindness, sensitivity, generosity, just the whole package, everything you are.
In my long life I have seen many examples of goodness, but now you have managed to jump to the top of the list.( kinda like you have put us at the top of your list) You have transformed our family, from mourning and grief to joy and anticipation. There just are no words. And all of this coming from a pure and giving heart, when there were other avenues that could have been, anger, impatience, just letting it all happen without doing anything, since even that could have been considered a reasonable response.
To turn a tragedy into glorious sunshine is more than simple magic. I can not adequately describe my respect, admiration, love and gratitude, but felt I needed to say something. It is nice to consider that our family will have a continuing relationship with you, and I promise you our ongoing care for Ivy will be ultra careful and sweet.
Your husband is some lucky guy!
AM - In loving memory of California Karlee (Gingy) and now Grandfather of California Ivy
Rafael graduated puppy kindergarten and started basic training classes last week. In addition we have a private trainer once a week. He can sit, stay, down, shake, leave it, wait, walk quietly on leash, go to your bed and come.
I am very proud.
His private trainer said he is one of the smartest puppies she has ever experienced.
JG – Sent to me by the owner of Rafael, formerly Pooh Bear, when he was just three months old!
So, the update. I’ll have to get some fresh photos on my phone to send you. But Bear has REALLY come into her own. She’s topped out at 20 pounds. She’s become incredibly pet oriented and is getting pretty darn good at coming and going when she is told. Commands like “release”, “box” (go to your crate), “come”, and “stay” are all really getting pretty good. She’s less dominate when playing with Layla. Overall, just about the best dog I’ve ever had, and I had one awesome dog for 17 years so that’s saying something.
Teddy (formerly known as California Colby) is just about a year old!! Thank you so much for giving us a puppy that we 100% treat as our first child :)
He has been such a joy to our lives. Teddy is just about 32 lbs, loves to play, findsthe largest sticks to fetch, and be outside! He comes to the gym with me everyday and just lays down till I'm finished. We can leave for 5 minutes or 3 hours and he is so excited it's like we were gone for days. We no longer go to the restroom by ourselves, as he comes and joins us and lays between the toilet and shower. He sleeps under our bed & then jumps up around 5AM to snuggle. He lives hikes, runs, and swimming! We bring him absolutely everywhere!!
Thank you again!
I've attached some photos for you!
B & M F - Owners of California Colby, now called Teddy.
We are continuing to bless the day we found Rosy Delight. She gets sweeter every day...so affectionate, devoted, etc.
Her tricks are hilarious. On command "paw"', she lifts her left paw and moves it up and down as in "how do you do" (she is a lefty, apparently!). She is so earnest and loves her reward-treat. She is a pro at come, sit, down, head down, and little dancing dog. Her repertoire is growing. She is very expressive with her paws and will often want to put a paw on my face or hold hands. She goes on errands with Jerry daily and always elicits rave comments. Her coat is luxuriant; we keep her brushed out and fluffy. I especially love her smile when her teeth show and her tongue hangs down abit. It really is a smile. Pretty girl.
I have a question or two: her heat cycle was in September I believe. When do you think we might expect the next or does that vary a lot from dog to dog? When do you plan to breed Rosy? Have you chosen her sire? I feel like I did when our girls brought their future husbands home for the "once over"! Jerry and I have already lamented for the time she will be away mothering her puppies. I have no doubt that she will be an exceptional mother, given her incredible temperament. She is going to bring a lot to the table, so to speak. :-).
I hope that you and your family are well and happy. Things are cozy here, my favorite word to describe this
beautiful time of the year, with a fireplace fire almost every night and Rosy providing cuddles and laughter.
Thanks Dana! I was with the trainer and she was asking some specific questions (I couldn't recall in the moment...I was all about welcoming Finn here). FYI she said she rarely sees breeders who prepare the pups and the clients as well as you have;)
Anyway, we have had an amazing two days. He is an unbelievable puppy. The vet said he has the most wonderful disposition ever (we knew that but good to hear of course). The nurses didn't want to give him back which is always a good sign. And he slept the whole night through.
My only complaint is I am exhausted from all the excitement. I heard from P (C?...? with whom I exchanged contact information) that Stella has been wonderful as well.
I have attached a few photos of Peanut and I dressed for our first assignment with the Sequoias. One of these should be great for your web site.
Peanut was wonderful! We brought a lot of smiles to many of the residents in the assisted living and nursing home facilities. Everyone was amazed by how gentle and calm our sweet girl is!!! She is such a natural!!!
We went to J's soccer game then to the Stanford mall afterward. What a full day! We ran into a woman and a few of her friends living in Atherton. One is currently on your wait list for a puppy! It was fun bragging about how wonderful Peanut and your other dogs are. We always run into admirers, particularly at Stanford Mall. I of course always let them know she is one of yours!
We just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that we are SO HAPPY with our sweet little girl Olive (aka California Pippen). She has brought us so much joy since she's been with us.
We were actually in San Mateo last week having dinner outside and met a woman who had a labradoodle, who was also admiring our little Olive. It just so happens her Teddy also came from you. It's such a small world.
Attached are a few photos of our sweet little Olive.
You don't know how thrilled we are to hear from you! You really made our day! Sienna has been the biggest blessing to our family. She's loved so very much and is the most delightful, beautiful, smart, sweet dog anyone could ever wish for!!
We are thankful to you for making this addition to our family possible! Sienna is... by far, absolute perfection!!!
Please do share the photos, I'd be honored to represent the happy families who are lucky enough to have one of your amazing Labradoodles!!!
Here is Caddie in a rare moment of repose. She is doing very well, and we are falling in love. She has gone to sleep in her crate both nights with minimal whining and slept through until 7:00 the first night and 6:00 last night
She is very curious about her new environment, both inside and out, yet has been unphased by the comings and goings in our house, including all the beeps, etc. that accompanied the installation of a new alarm system today.
We visited the vet yesterday; she got a clean bill of health, didn't make a peep when her temperature got taken, and was generally oohed and aahed over. Btw, our vet said she had never seen such organized puppy medical records.
I wanted to give you an update on Ruby (California Riviera).
She is a bit over 9 months old now.
There has never in the history of creation been a sweeter or more lovable pooch than this girl. She often plays by herself, tossing a ball around the house and chasing it without any trouble. Loves to play. She is always happy to sit and snuggle with us when we sit on the couch at night and watch the fire. She leans into us, like a best friend who really loves you would do. She is so cuddly and soft. She has the best disposition of any dog I have ever known. She is sweet to everyone. She is quiet, hardly ever barks unless there is a deer at our back door. She is great in the car. Great in the rain. She is so smart, and so funny! Her greatest joy is sneaking into my closet to pull out a stinky sock, and whimpering with total joy and excitement!
One of my acupuncture patients is a vet who remarks whenever she sees Ruby "Happy! Happy! Happy!"
She is sparky but mellow too. Just a bundle of love.
How can we thank you for this pup? Maybe these words will help convey our appreciation.
It was a pleasure to meet you on Monday and to see Zena and how much-loved your dogs are.
Simon is just WONDERFUL! He is such a good boy - sleeping through the night, already knows to go to the door for "potty breaks" and he and our Noodles are getting along great. Simon is very confident and curious and has already charmed my whole family. He flirts with Noodles constantly- super cute. I'll be sending a few pics of them together as soon as I upload them to the computer.
We went to see Dr Roos this morning and he said we had an "exceptional" puppy. Our sentiments exactly. She is sleeping through the night, so Snuggly, so funny and so perfect for us. We are all besotted!
I thought you might get a kick out of this. Our puppy has settled right into our family life. Mark likes to play with the him after the kids are in bed. This is their favorite trick. Dickens will stay on his back for ever like that. He is such a sweet amazing guy!
This'll be another long email (sorry!) but I wanted to give you an update on how Lady (Fey) has been doing in her first week in her new home. ADORABLE, in a word. She is such a sweet friendly puppy and is taking to her new life really quickly. Her cuteness vastly exceeds our photography skills but we've started on an instagram. It looks from the pictures like she just sleeps all the time, but that's because when she is playing it's a lot more fun to play with her than try to get a picture that isn't blurry. Once we start playing with her out on the patio a bit more (where it's brighter and easier to focus) we should get some more quality action shots to show her true personality.
The head start on crate training has really paid off! She cried for maybe half an hour the very first night we put her down to sleep, but after that and every night since she's been completely quiet unless a loud noise from somewhere wakes her up. She's also amazing at going potty in the right place one we figured out to put newspaper down on potty pads so she had a familiar scent.
We took her into the vet (Dr Megan at Arroyo Animal Clinic in Sunnyvale) on Wednesday and she passed with flying colors. She's a perfectly healthy puppy and was on perfect behavior for the vet with no problems at all being examined all over. The vet tech was astounded by how good she was for such a young puppy.
Lady loves meeting new people! We haven't had a ton of people to the apartment yet, but she's been really calm and friendly with the ones we have and we have been having a really fun time carrying her around the neighborhood and letting everyone young and old say hello and pet her.
Thank you so much for helping bring this wonderful bundle of joy into our lives!
Just wanted to check in with a two year update now that Phoebe is maturing into a wonderful adult dog. Ben and I had a baby, and Phoebe couldn't be better with him. L is almost a month old now, and she is still very curious about who this creature is in the house, but she is wonderful about sharing B's and my attention with him. I was initially concerned about how she would respond, because she would always lie on me and follow me wherever I went. I knew a baby would change that. Luckily, she still finds a way to be with me, even though I can't give her quite as much attention anymore. (See pic!)
I hope all is well. I love seeing all of the new puppies. Can't wait until fall when there are more puppies due!
Yvette is doing great and seems to be adjusting well. She has slept through the night without crying. (Both nights). It's amazing how fast she learns. She is ready going out back to use the bathroom and if we don't get her outside fast enough she runs to the papers. She loves to follow my daughter around! We really love her! We are taking her for her checkup today. We promise to keep you updated.
Merry Christmas from Sunnyvale. Here's Koa...photo taken in our backyard the day he turned 4 months...12/22/13. We're very happy with him and he's such a joy! We currently have him enrolled in puppy training and he's doing great!
Wishing you a happy, healthy 2014. Hauoli Makahiki Hou!
I've been meaning to email you and thought tonight would be a good time to do so, since Jasper is fifteen weeks old today! He is growing and learning at an incredible rate, and we love him madly. Tonight he finished his puppy preschool classes and was runner up in the little competition the instructor held before their "graduation" ceremony. He eats really well (still the Wellness puppy kibble you started him on), chews everything in sight, and gives "big brother" Castillo a workout every single day. He's scheduled to get his next round of shots next Friday, and we're looking forward to taking him out on walks to explore the neighborhood. He is such a great puppy and a wonderful addition to our family; thank you again for placing him with us!
We just wanted to check in and let you know that the first night went really well and little Louis is already adjusting to both us and his new little home. I can't thank you enough for what a wonderful puppy he is. He went in his crate last night and only cried for a few minutes. He slept through the night until about 5:45. So far no accidents and he's been going on his papers in his designated spot. We're in love with him. Here's a little pic of him taking a nap this morning. We'll keep you updated.
Just wanted you to see our wonderful and precious Sydney, as he approaches his birthday on September 14. Hard to believe he will be a year old.
He keeps us amused and on our toes. He goes for a long walk with my husband and sees his buddies that are walking with their owners. He also sees deer and wild turkeys along the way. He has play dates at our home with Ginger, who is a Goldendoodle, that he loves.
He flies with us to the East coast and Chicago and is such a good boy. A man sitting behind us recently mentioned to my husband "You would never know there was a dog on board." You certainly picked the right puppy for us and we are so grateful we got a boy even though we thought we wanted a girl, wrong.
Many thanks again for the outstanding job you are doing for this breed.
We are getting ready to celebrate Phoebe's birthday tomorrow. We can't believe she will be a year old tomorrow! I just wanted to send you a picture to show how she looks as a full grown dog. She is a very happy dog, and she makes us happy every day! I hope all is going well, and that you are having a great summer!
Thought you may want to see Breezy at 7 months. She is so very perfect; beautiful, smart, friendly to dogs and people, funny, loving and I love her. Thank you for breeding this fabulous puppy. Sorry cannot figure out to attach photo, so will send in following email.
Hi Dana! Chewie is now about 7 1/2 months. We absolutely adore him! He is the most fun, happy little dog we (or anyone else) have ever seen! He loves people and loves life! He is so affectionate, and has a wonderful sense of humor. He comes up to us with the ball in his mouth, which is his way of telling us it is time to play fetch. He recently started playing something that can only be described as hide and seek, where he scurries under the bed and runs out again, over and over. When we return from a walk, he zooms forward as we reach home, and runs in circles at top flight speed (is there a dog olympics?). I had no doubt that Monique and I would adore him, but what we didn't expect is that my husband, not particularly a pet person, has flipped, and has even been heard talking baby talk to him! Every night, as I am about to put Chewie in his crate for the night, I find him nuzzled with my husband in our bed, where they are both quite content!
Your ability and talent as a breeder cannot be over-emphasized. We were the last of the allotments for this litter, yet Chewie is beautiful and healthy and happy and fun. He is everything we ever could have asked for in a dog, and we are just thrilled that he has entered our family. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Oh my gosh, he's amazing and we love him so much! (Of course!)
He graduated the puppy kindergarten a month or more ago and now we are on to an 8 month program for Canine Good Citizenship and hopeful Therapy Dog Certification within the year. He's doing great, so smart and eager to learn. He listens and he's also a goof ball. Potty training went well, with help from the crate. We are still crating him and will continue to through his training and maybe beyond. He has had a bit of seporation anxiety (he's pretty much around me always) so we are working on that and he's come really far. He's already got a good basis for a "down stay" and that's whats getting him a little more independent.
His coat has stayed dark so far, with lightening sun bleached up top - so cute! I'm not allergic to him at all (yay!) The vet and everyone there just adore him.
Here's a few photos from my iphone, sorry that I don't have any more "professional" ones for you. I keep meaning to do a doggie photo shoot but... I guess I haven't had time. A few are from a summer camping trip we went on.
Thanks for your recent email as you may imagine California Christopher aka Max has became an important member of our family,Thank you so much for finding a perfect dog for us. He is very smart, loving, playful and beat all our expectations. He is just adorable and everyone wants to pet him when we are out. He is really a star here, in Pacific Palisades. I was asked on several occasion's about his origins and gave your website address. As a matter of fact my friend, MT, has ordered a puppy and supposed to get it at the end of year.
I am attaching some pictures and hope you will enjoy them.
My kids are in love with Daisy already - just like me:). She is pure sweetness.
She has not wanted to eat her 4pm meal yet. Is that normal?
It was such a pleasure to meet you today! Thank you for trusting me with Daisy! She will be very well loved.
J - Owner of California Vesta, now Daisy
And, a few weeks later:
Hello! I wanted to let you know that Daisy is doing amazingly well! She seems to feel completely at home with us - and we all adore her. She attended 3 sporting events this weekend alone and was the star of the show at each and every one:) We have had some "in home training" - but she will start puppy class this week...
It occurred to me last week that Daisy's temperment may be well suited to become a therapy dog. I have wanted to volunteer at Lucille Packard for years - so maybe this is something Daisy and I can do as a team! Do you know anything about the process we would need to go through to make that happen?
Maggie finished her first session of puppy training. She was a STAR! Everyone loves Maggie! and she is my soul mate! Thank you for doing such a wonderful job on socializing Maggie, I took Maggie to an outdoor restaurant in Menlo Park and a family recognized Maggie as one of Danna’s Laberadooles!! Their dog is 2 years old and the dogs name starts with a P, can’t remember the name. the young girl wants to work with you to help raise dogs. You are famous!! Thank you again.
Fondly B - Owner of California Estella, now Maggie
I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but I cannot put into words the absolute joy that Cali has brought into my life - who knew I could love a dog SO madly? Truly, she is practically human - As I was sitting in my kitchen the other day, I said, "Oh look, Cali, it's snowing again." I swear she jumped up from under my stool and ran to look out of the glass paned door - I promise!!! (Needless to say, I've told that to very few people for fear that they'd seriously worry about me.) :)
I have only one lingering regret re California Labradoodles and that is because you didn't once urge me to get 2 puppies! It's all your fault! :) And so now you know - I have totally turned into one of those annoying "dog people!"
We took this picture of Louie at the beach last week and couldn’t resist sending it to you. I tell everyone we have the cutest dog on the planet – because we do! He seriously puts a smile on everyone’s face! We love him so much. Hope the summer is treating you well.
Theodore (teddy), once Marley is amazing. He is confident, gregarious, comedic, sweet and absolutely to be adored. Thank you!
He has adapted to being away from his Woodside home very well. The first night he was here he cried for about 10 minutes in his crate before sleeping throughout the night until 5. Tuesday and Wednesday nights his crying lasted less than a minute after which time, his dreams were sweet. 'Exceeds expectations'. He and Kona, E's dog met and both dogs were good to each other. Kona has begun to set some boundaries and Theodore is catching on...his number one desire is to play, play, play.
We are both committed to improve on potty training. Were at about 50% success as we work at learning together, he is just so quick, in multiple regards.
Everybody simply loves this dog, the number one response to meeting him is, "he is the cutest dog I've ever seen
Want to take a moment to tell you how impressed I have been with your energy and willingness to find me the perfect companion. I know you worked extra hard to make this happen and I so appreciate it. Your business is classy plus and your commitment to the happiness, wellbeing and safety of all your creatures highlighted my experience working with you throughout this adoption process. Thank you so very much, I am very grateful.
She is amazing! I am completely beside myself! I am naming her Kimbo after my sister. She hasn't had a single accident, slept late and is so cute I could scream! We all love her so much . There are two little boys next door who were playing with her and it was hysterical . You may be hearing from their mom...
She is happy at play or on my lap. Thank you so very my much. Will keep you posted!
California Maya is doing great! We like the name Maya so much we are keeping it for her. You should have seen the sparkle and the huge smile on Rl’s face when I introduced Maya to her. Rl is in love with her as are we all. My boys from college are rushing home tonight to meet Maya and have been texting me for updates on her. We bring her everywhere with us so she can meet as many people as possible. She is like a celebrity and I have to be the body guard to keep the “paparazzi” back, just kidding we love the attention. She at 8 weeks has already gotten the “sit” command down pretty good, sleeps in her crate and knows to go potty in the backyard when we bring her to the potty spot. She is smart! Peter calls her his Lapadoodle and Napadoodle because she loves napping on his lap.
Thank you for matching us up with Maya. She is the sweetest thing and pretty mellow so far which is what we asked for. I will keep you posted with updates and pictures because I know you are as proud of her as we are.
She is so so wonderful! As I type she is at my feet scampering around.
H and I were just saying last night that we are so busy playing with her and having fun with her that we never take pictures when she is at her cutest! Last night she was whooping it up with Marjorie, our gentle giant bloodhound, and Daphne Hiba was draped across Marjorie's neck and shoulders while Marjorie was flat on the ground. It was adorable.
Daphne Hiba thinks that Marjorie is a large interactive chew toy. Marjorie loves her.
We are committed to taking photos this weekend and will forward them as soon as we can. She is calm, so sweet, so smart, and so loveable. We are really lucky. Her color is beautiful and those sparkly brown eyes peering out of the fur make one's heart melt.
As you can tell, our whole family is pretty much madly in love with her.
Ava received her Certificate of Accomplishment and was promoted to Novice. She completed Beginner Obedience. She is showing signs of really enjoying and being quite good at agility courses. Our 8 year old granddaughter spent last week with us and Ava was so cute with her. At six months old, she is about 15 lbs and is 15 inches (shoulder height). I'll send some better photos to you next week. Ava brings Mike and I so much joy.
I hope this email finds you very, very well :) I wanted to pop in and send you over some pictures of London as today I looked at him and realized "Wow! He's all grown up". It would be impossible for me to thank you for all the happiness you've given to me by giving me London. M and I are absolutely in love with him. As Labradoodles are so popular now I see them all the time however, I really believe your puppies to be the cutest I've seen so far (I realize I'm partial being the mother to one). London has grown up to be the sweetest little companion. He listens and obeys very well and I can tell he is interested in making people happy. He definitely still has his puppy moments tugging at my shirt when he wants attention but those times I find much more endearing than bothersome :) He was super quick to learn tricks and this summer quickly became a big fan of water- both the ocean and pools. He would have spent the past three months fetching his ball from the pool should we have had the energy to keep up the other end of the game! Most of all he is just such a little love. He is my little buddy. I take him every where I can- which seems to be practically everywhere. Thank you SO much for such a gift. If I can ever help in any way with referrals or recommendations of any sort I would be more than happy to help. However, I have very little doubt you are ever short of demand! In fact I've been asked more times than I can remember where I got London :) Here are a few photos of Londie over the past year and a half. I have pleeeeeeenty more where they came from so let me know if you every want to see more! He is quite a photogenic little man. I hope you and your family had a great summer.
We have amazing time with Lola. She is little Angel who came to our family to make us happy and to put a smile on our face.
She is doing great. She is very smart and very good puppy. I hope you can watch our first video..We are making Lolas journal with my Rebecca and Adam is in love with her. He is taking her every day for one hour play day to his house with dad..but tomorrow he will come first time to my house and he will stay for dinner and he will watch Lola for 4 hours in the morning.
Dana I thank you so much.
PS.She is also little business girl. Rebecca and Girls made 50 $ for Human sociaty selling lemonade because everybody stop by to see her and pay for cup of lemonade ,pat Lola and she was in very brave and social.....we are going to animal shalter to donate money for dogs and cats...

Wanted to share that life with Tango is great. He is training wonderfully, he is fun for our whole family & he is healthy.
Yesterday he weighed in @9.25 lbs at his 13 week vet appointment. Tango happily goes into his crate each night & sleeps most nights until he barks to let us know he needs to relieve himself around 5:20am.
Tango goes to a puppy class w/us each week & we work on training daily. He is doing well on a leash, he can sit w/a hand command, drop an item when asked, fetch toys, lay down on command & more.
Sierra and Rusty continue to get along famously!! They are so sweet together!
Rusty now weighs 8 1/2 pounds and is adorable! He is very well socialized; he loves people/other dogs, adapts well to changes in the environment. He is in puppy school and is doing very well with learning basic commands. He is a character!! He is definitely going to be the color of Sierra; he is getting lighter.
Sierra continues to be a loving and doting Mother; she is happy, happy!! She gets more beautiful everyday.
We took them on their first road trip together a couple of weeks ago. Rusty was perfect riding in the car. Rusty immediately adapted to the new environment where we were staying.
You will get a kick out of this. Through Serendipity we found Sierra's previous puppy, Wylie! Long story short; Wylie 's owner and I have a mutual friend. M was visiting my friend N; discussion came up about her dog Wylie and she showed our mutual friend pictures of him. My friend N asked who her breeder was; then the name of Wylie's mother- bingo. N told her she has known Sierra since we got her! We are so excited about getting Wylie together with Sierra! Do you think they will know they are related?
Am attaching some recent pictures of Sierra and Rusty

Flying home was easy
We went to our vet yesterday and all is perfect. Pooh Bear (Rafael...Rafa) is wonderful. He can sit, slept all night in crate, NO accidents in the house..good eater...neighborhood socialization has begun....some separation anxiety starting so getting private trainer here ASAP
You breed the Best puppies, I am in love with him, he is soooo sweet and smart.
All The Best
JG - Owner fo California Pooh Bear, now Rafael, now Rafa
Thank you so much for letting us know the payment went through successfully. Brody is the best! He slept through the night and is adjusting well to the new house. He went to the vet this morning and he was so good. He is completely healthy and loved the Vet who took care of him. We love him so much and can't wait to see him grow up. Expect photos soon!!!
WE LOVE HIM! Oh my goodness he is such a gem. We cannot believe how well behaved he is, kind, silly and absolutely adorable. Potty training and crate training so far, so good. He cries for about 10 minutes but then does pretty good through the night. He's fetching with the toys he likes the best, and we're working on sit, etc...you know he likes to show his paws too. Lots of socialization too. We had a play date with our Australian Shepard friend and they did great. Everybody loves him so much. ....
Here are some pictures from his first day at home.
Just to let you know.....we had a great night. Kiah (aka Velvet) slept quietly all night and has not had one accident. She ate well and Crystal is curious and warming up to her quite as we expected. This little girl is gregarious, happy and funny....oh and of course very smart! We hope the K's are just as thrilled with their baby Hazel! They were as excited as we were when picking up the girls! Thanks again Dana!
Just wanted to have you catch up with Marley, now that he in a few month is going to be 3 years old. Oh my, time flies. He is all grown up now. He is doing sooooo well. And of course we love him more than ever. This year he did pass the "canine good citizen" test and has been listed in the canine good citizen archives. We are so proud of him. And we do continue to go to dog training. Right now we have started K9 rally. Not been to any competition yet, but he loves to do almost anything we ask of him. However we are considering search and rescue since he is very good at tracking things, and Mary Cortani (dog trainer) has tried him out for it, and think he can do it... but I am still considering since it is a big commitment. But we will let you know if we do it. I am sending you a picture. Weight is 25 lb. He has gotten a little lighter than when he was a puppy, but still looks smashing. Hope things are good at California Labradoodles with all of your wonderful dogs and your family.
I wanted to write and tell you how in love we are with our little puppy! She is so incredibly sweet, funny and affectionate. We have re-named her Freya, after the Nordic mythology goddess of love, and it fits her well. We are working on the house training, and if there are accidents, they are generally our fault. She is adjusting to sleeping later in the morning, and basically wants to be with us and part of the action at all times. She is the first thing the kids talk about in the morning, and the last thing at night.
She came to "show and tell" at K's school, and couldn't have been more mellow and easy going about having 22 Kindergartners clamoring to pet her. We have had a 3-year birthday party her too, and she took that in stride. Last weekend we took her up to Point Reyes, and she loved running around up there!
The vet was thrilled with her, and very impressed with your thoroughness. She just had her next round of shots, and we have a trainer come to give us pointers. She does the "sit", and would probably do more things if we were pushing it. We are planning to start puppy training classes soon.
She is basically an all out adorable little ball of fluff, and it is impossible to walk more than five steps (with her in a carrier for now) in our neighborhood without being stopped. We love the Apricot, and cannot imagine her being different in any way.
I had a chance to spend some time with other dogs this past week, my mom's dog and my dad's dog (two different dogs), and I was able to really appreciate just how special Zooey is. I wanted to tell you about it because I think it is due to her good breeding.
Both of the other dogs were really nice to my kids and all around good dogs, but I did notice a few very important and, to me, striking differences. One was Zooey's exceptional level of gentleness with the kids. The other dogs were not rough, exactly, but there was an element of the unknown and so the kids were not allowed to play as rough with those dogs as they do with Zooey. And one of the dogs, while non-agressive, didn't have a very gentle mouth, and he was a super muscly pit mix. I'm not stereotyping, he is a great dog and was great with the kids, but did accidentally catch a finger while playing with his toy. It is so great that they are able to wrestle and snuggle with Zooey and I don't have to worry. Once in a while, she gives a warning growl, but if she is really bothered, she just moves away. It's awesome.
The other thing that I noticed, which I didn't fully appreciate until we were away from Zooey for a week and got to spend this time with the other dogs, is how VERY affectionate and physically loving she is. I just took it for granted that dogs are that way, but neither of my parents' dogs are snugglers. Zooey will just come and sit in your lap if you're on the floor, and if she's permitted, will nuzzle her nose up to your face and be spooned for a nap. SO snuggly and loving. And she licks just the right amount to show how much she loves you but doesn't do it excessively so that it becomes bothersome.
My mom's dog is very vocal, to an annoying degree if you ask me, and Zooey is so mild with her barking. She really uses her bark well - either to alert that something seems wrong outside, or a playful little "arf!" when she and the boys are playing chase, or she's running around crazy fun after a bath.
I love and appreciate her more every day. Oh, and to top it all off, while the boys and I were gone for a week, my husband stayed back. He took Zooey to daycare everyday, but got home in time to pick her up so they could spend the evenings together. He didn't have a single complaint, said she was great the whole week. What a turn around!
We are so hopelessly in love with with little Yogi Bear. We can not thank you enough for him. Yogi is doing very well fitting into our family and has already surpassed our wildest dream of what it would be like to have the perfect dog in our family--especially after such a tragic mis-fire with the other breeder.
Yogi is currently in puppy class on Sunday mornings with T in Los Altos and he really enjoys it. Yogi is so full of love and has only known love and we are committed do our very best to make sure that Yogi only knows love throughout his life.
Yogi does lots of tricks and is very easy to teach because he is so smart. Here are a few of them: Yogi can sit, stand up, twirl, shake, stay, come, drop, lay down. He can not roll over yet but I am having fun trying to teach him to. Sharon is working on long periods of "stay" with him.
By the way, Dr Dave Roos liked Yogi a lot as well. Yogi has had all of his shots and vet visits on time.
Hi Dana- hope you are well. All the puppies look beautiful! Just a quick note to let you know Ollie (Ca Wally) is doing great! He's 5mos now, 17lbs and super friendly and mellow. We love him! We joke that he needs his own business cards, we are always referring people to your website. We leave tomorrow for a week in Santa Barbara so I'm sure we'll have more pics soon.

Last July 2009, we picked up our Puppy Kalen (formerly Toby) who is the pup of Mommy Venus and Daddy Ozzie. We wanted to send you a few photo's taken recently to show you how wonderfully Kalen is doing and what a great loveable buddy he is to our 7 year old daughter Jaden.
We couldn't be happier with Kalen. He is now 32 lbs (will be 1 on May 23rd 2010) - he is extremely playful, cuddly, funny, and gets tons of attention from everyone he meets, and goes to our daughters school several times a week. The school has basically "adopted" Kalen as their mascot. He is so good with kids that we hope to get him into a therapy program when he's a bit older (still working on his manners)
We recommend California Labradoodles often. Take care and hopefully we'll see you if there is ever another planned Doodleromp.
PS - If you want to post any of these photos on your site, please let me know and I can have Kenny send you the originals.
S,K and J L - Owners of California Toby, now Kalen
--- Seriously, Dana, it is CRAZY, how many people stop us and ask to pet him, (especially when we go shopping at Stanford Mall) People tell us he is the cutest and softest dog they've ever seen, and we, of course, have to agree! We'll give him a hug and a "frosty paw" (his favorite doggy ice cream treat) from his first love Dana. See you at the Romp.
Honey is just a love. We couldn't have imagined a better puppy. She hasn't had any accidents yet. Peeing and pooping outside. She just wants to be held and cuddled. Just like a little baby. She is just adorable. The first day she was very apprehensive and subdued. But, each day she is showing more of her personality and starting to play. We are both very pleased with our choice of breeds AND BREEDER and feel very lucky to have been blessed with Honey. Our Vet asked for your name, because she wouldn't hesitate to give your name to anyone asking about a Labradoodle. We gave her your website address.
thought i would share the latest on Bailey. the attached pictures were taken late this afternoon so it's an up to date glimpse at the best puppy in the world. there is no one who has met her who doesn't want to take her home with them. a pocket and purse search is now mandatory prior to leaving....
...She couldn't be a better pup and she's adjusting to her new home like you couldn't believe. We of course, just adore her! I think I'm going to have a hard time coming back to the bay area...my parents have bonded and want to keep her!!! Just like you said, my dad (he's a vet) says she's in great health from what he can see. She plays so hard with their golden retriever Emma, then naps hard. She hasn't lost her loving ways though....anytime you pick her up she snuggles so hard!! Since Wednesday we haven't had any accidents. She's even gone to our back door to tell us herself that she wants to go to the bathroom. She's slept through the night every night....only with a few wimpers the first night. We let her sleep in her crate, next to the other dog.
I've attached a few pictures that I think you'll like. I'll give you more once I've downloaded them. All in all, she's perfect and I adore her. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
KG - Owner of California Jalapeno, now Nellie
---Hope all is well! Wanted to show you some more pictures of Nellie (Jalapeno). She's just over 3 months now and has gotten SOOOO big. She's the most mild mannered puppy, but still has so much personality. She carries herself like she's a giant dog....and makes sure that all the other dogs know that too! Enjoy the pics!
we are happy (yet tardy) to report that pretzel is the best dog in the world and that we adore him each and every day. he brightens our lives and is super sweet. what a lover. he has been a real trooper and easy to train.
he turned one year old today... it was an exciting day. he is about 18 lbs and a good shaped little guy. we are constantly stopped in the street and asked about him. "what is he?" "I didn't know they came in mini..." "wow, what a great color..." "wow, our doodle is so big compared to him..."
sorry for lack of communication and photos, but i will try to be in touch more.
latest with us: we want another labradoodle! alas, we are happy with pretzel, so maybe next xmas?!
Wanted to send you an update on our precious Tango. He is almost 11 months old now and we are already thinking of how we will celebrate his first birthday. I'm sharing a few photos via Google Share which I've never done before. Not sure how they will come to you...email? Let me know if you get them.
Tango is very healthy and at almost 11 months he is holding steady at 19 pounds. Tango's favorite thing is to be with his humans, 2nd would be riding in the car with his nose out the window and 3rd would be chewing on his marrow bone. He loves tug of war games, would rather be chased then drop a toy and LOVES any squeaker toys. Tango is a very snugly dog, and when most of our family recently had the flu we learned he could do without his daily walk and not drive us insane with his pent up energy. We walk Tango at least once a day and sometimes 2 times, but during our illness he was perfectly happy to sleep, read and watch lots of movies with us.
He is incredibly patient with us and especially our 6 year old daughter and her friends in the neighborhood. Tango rarely barks and when he does it is at strange things. He never barks at a stranger, but always barks when we hug or kiss within our family, he seems to be sending us a message. He also barks if something is out of place in our home. If I leave my purse on the bathroom floor instead of its normal hook at the front door he will softly growl at it and work up to a bark. Same thing if I move a small kitchen appliance while cleaning.
Tango comes, sits, lays down, goes off, stops jumping if a human will turn their back on him, and knows how to go get toys when asked. Tango is a pretty good walker, and likes to be off leash at dog parks.
Tango LOVES human food. He really only gets what ends up on the floor around Daisy's place. But when I am cooking he can't stay away from garlic, cheese, and recently we learned he likes gingerbread.
Tango has a huge place in all of our hearts and has brought more joy into our lives then I could ever describe. We can't go anywhere without someone commenting on his looks, and when we meet animal lovers or people that seem to connect with dogs quickly, they always comment on his personality and great energy.
We are moving in June this summer, but the Army has not let us know where yet.
What wonderful puppies you have! I wish that I could have a little female. Venus( Bogart's sister) has a beautiful litter. Enclosed is a photo of Bogart. He is FANTASTIC visiting assisted living centers, hospitals and the library. Bogart loves to show off. He sits, stays. goes down, waits. crawls, runs thru the tunnel jumps thru hoops( two in a row), walks around with his entire body covered, finds it, and he will be be doing " the shell game". Everyone can tell that he is young(22 months) because he is so eager. As soon as we start to visit one on one, he becomes totally calm. He allows anything, rough petting for example and he does NOT even eat crumbs etc. on residents laps. He is really AMAZING.
Best Wishes Always,
MP - Owner pf California Bogart (Bogey)
p.s. I have had a grooming lesson and I do a better job grooming than I had done in this photo. He loves the attention.
I will send you more pictures. I don't know how to work the picture set-up. We celebrated Bucky's 2nd birthday on September 30th. We love Bucky so much. He is the best dog - not even a dog - our favorite family member. Bucky has a wonderful life. He is never alone. We live near the park where he loves to walk. He also has a country house where he runs free. Bucky has a funny personality. He makes us laugh. We want to thank you so much for putting so much joy into our lives with Bucky. My veterinarian, during the first visit said that you took very good care of him. Bucky is a star in our neighborhood. Wherever we go people stop us.
Thank you so much for Bucky, and we will send you more pictures.
So sorry to not send you anything before this. I wanted you to know how well Truffle is doing, and what a special member of our family she has become! She and S are inseparable, and she’s bringing so much warmth and happiness to our lives. I think she loves us too.
A couple of shots of here right after bringing her home, and a few more recent. Hope you’re well, and your dogs are thriving.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
JR (Pasquale) has reached a bouncing, bubbling 12 pounds; loves to run, play tag
and fetch, and has learned everything from the basics to selecting specific toys –
and putting them back in his toy box when he’s through!
Happy New Year to you and your family!! Hope you had a wonderful time skiing in Utah.
We are loving Sydney more every day. He was wonderful on the trip to Ct, as well as coming home. We never heard a peep and as you know it's a long trip 61/2 hours on the plane, as well as time at the airport. He thought the snow was just for him and loved playing with Duffy, the 3 year old "Golden" As a mater of fact Duffy would lie down so Sydney could jump and climb all over him. He certainly was a hit with the children and all the people coming for Christmas dinner, etc. He loved the beach house and all the activities there. Our grandchildren wanted us to leave him, but they have three "Goldens" , and that is more than enough.
We have a trainer coming to the house for him. He is so smart and Amelia, the trainer, loves working with him. If anyone needs a trainer that comes to the house, I highly recommend her. Sydney thinks she is wonderful. Just let me know.
B has included some pictures of our boy, at various times. Today he had his bath and first "do". We will work with getting it just right, my main request is I see his wonderful eyes.
We can never thank you enough for picking the absolute perfect puppy for us. He is our constant companion and love.
I just wanted to send you a quick picture of Louie. He is so sweet and good. A trainer is coming next Wednesday to help us learn how to train him, but he is sleeping through the nights and getting lots of love. We adore him and get stopped everywhere we go so people can pet him (and sometimes hold him!). And I swear, he is getting cuter everyday.
I hope your surgery went well. Thanks again for bringing Louie into our lives!

"What a nice first day I had with my new family! They love to cuddle as much as I
do, and my new friend Pearl is very gentle and sweet. We stayed home a lot so
that I could get used to and all of the new smells and sights. I learned
very quickly where to go to the bathroom. They have bark too so it was pretty easy!
We went to the beach to take Pearl on her usual walk. I was carried, but can't wait
to run on the sand too. The kids were so excited to see me after school. Libby was
very sweet and sat in the backseat with Pearl and me. I have a seat with a harness
right next to Pearl! Anyway, I also went to the barn where I met Georgio! I also
saw Charlie's family there. They loved me! They decided they would like to have a
friend for Charlie, but they need to ask their Dad first;). My first full day here was
very easy, and I feel very loved. As you can imagine with all of that fun I slept right
through the night just as you taught me".
Wanted to check-in and let you know that Olive (California Keepsake) is doing great! She has fast become an integral part of the family, well loved by all. She seems very comfortable, relaxed and happy.
On the practical side, she loves her crate and is sleeping through the night, rotating between our bedrooms. Her house training is going quite well. She knows her potty spot outside and uses it if her owners get her there. We are mostly hitting it...only one accident yesterday. So far none today. She is eating, drinking and playing without incident. Fetch is her favorite. The kids have been quite successful in teaching her the sit command. Treats work wonders!
Her vet appt was successful. A perfect checkup and she was very comfortable with the vet.
....Crispin (Calif Simply Irres. aka Izzy) has kept his color beautifully, as you can see, and weighs in at about 17 pounds... his hair is exactly what I hoped - kind of rasta curly not tight poodle fuzz. ... Most importantly, C has no allergic reaction whatsoever.
----Crispin is such a treasure, worth every penny, we love him so much, thank you!!
....Okay, our boy Crispin is so hilarious & full of personality, people actually say things like "He reminds me of my cousin D!"
He is quirky & fun, has several good dog friends and has heard so many people say "That's the cutest puppy I've ever seen" I think he believes that's his name.
KB – Owner of California Simply Irresistable (Izzy), now Crispin
...I really wanted to email you Dana, as I have had so many compliments about the nature and gentle disposition of the puppies. I had to let you know and thank you. I love having them in my family - they are just so giving and well behaved. No-one can believe they are puppies. They trot around town with me, following one foot behind, tails wagging. They are house-trained, don't bark, sleep all night long and walk straight to their beds at night. They are so calm - the groomer was really surprised as one dog would just sit and watch her grooming the other. Then they swapped and the other would watch.
I am sold on my labradoodles and am completely in love.....

I just want to tell you that you were right on all accounts. This is one special puppy!
He's slept through both nights in the crate! I carried him around in the puppy carrier a good part of the day yesterday. He met everyone at school and couldn't be calmer. He already knows to pee in the bark area. And that face, well I just can't say enough....
....Thanks for adding so much happiness to our household

I just had to write to say we could have saved the Obama's weeks of research. We have the best "hypo allergenic puppies"!
Also gave your name to a couple who live in the same area in Sonoma where we have our place. I think their names are M and TD. They wanted a clone of Ollie!
SG - Owner of California Gunther, now Ollie
Congratulations on your recent litters. I trust all is well with you and your family.
Razlo is doing extremely well. He is so smart and is becoming very brave. He knows his basic commands, is completely house trained, and can now handle a flight of stairs. He has a great sense of when to be mellow and when to go completely nuts!
What a guy! You did an outstanding matching job for us.
We're thrilled with the little guy and can't imagine what we did without him.
Best Regards , MH - Owner of California Cotton Candy, now Razlo
Maggie turns 6 months old this week and she has had a great summer so far. These four pics are from our trip to Yosemite last week. She is a great camper. I have some pics of her kayaking too. I will try and get them developed and send them to you. They are on a waterproof camera. We love her! And our Sadie loves her too. She is the smartest dog we have ever known! She loves the beach as much as we do. We take her to the dog park where she meets other dogs to play with. She was completely house trained at 3 1/2 months. She looks up to Sadie for the house rules (most of the time). Hope all is well with you and your family (and extended family). We could not be happier parents of our baby girl. Thank you!!!

Our journey began on what started out to be a fairly normal weekend one year ago today (November 6, 2004). We tend to start our Sunday's slow at my house. Reading the paper, drinking coffee, checking out the view from the deck can last two or three hours depending on how lazy we feel we deserve to be. But that Sunday morning an insert in our local paper had an adorable picture with the headline "The Perfect Dog?" Our life was about to change forever. The article was about a new popular 'mixed breed' called Labradoodle. The more I read the more interested I got. It seemed like a fantasy dog half Poodle and half Labrador. Really smart yet goofy and playful. The article listed a website for the International Labradoodle Association, Incorporated. The site featured several 'Approved Members of the Labradoodle Association' including California Labradoodles. After I investigated several web sites I came back to California Labradoodles for several reasons. Dana's website was the most comprehensive and I couldn't take my eyes of the pictures of Lacey, Buddy, and Poppy. Also, California Labradoodles specializes in miniature Labradoodles and are only three hours from our home on the Central Coast. We had been researching different breeds of dogs but only decided three things for sure. We wanted a small female pup with a great personality. I emailed Dana at California Labradoodles asking some questions. She got back to me right away with answers. After about a dozen emails back and forth (Dana was and continues to be patient and understanding) I completed the application and sent it along with the required deposit. Then the wait for Lacey to have her litter began. Between November 2004 and the day our Maggie Mae was born (March 6, 2005) Dana kept us informed and emailed right back if I had questions or concerns. Finally the second week of May we made the trip to Woodside California to pick up our puppy. Dana introduced us to Maggie Mae and it was love at first sight. She was too cute with her red hair, green eyes and pink nose and lips! Dana was wonderful! She acted as if she had all day to answer our questions and show us around her fabulous property. The grounds are immaculate and the 'guest house' where the puppies live was impressive in its cleanliness and spaciousness. By the way they are cared for it is obvious that Dana and her family deeply love all their dogs. Maggie is eight months old today. She is more fun that we could have ever imagined! She is smart, playful and ready to try anything. We took her kayaking and she loved it. Without any training she just started playing Frisbee on the beach. She is great with voice commands and was completely house trained at 5 months old. I could go on and on. She has stayed pretty small at 17 pounds right now. Our vet tells us she might get a little bit bigger over the next couple of months. We could not be happier with the whole process of becoming Maggie Mae's parents. In fact we decided this week to put an application in for another Labradoodle puppy! Why just have one when you could have two!! Sometime in January 2006 Dana tells us we will have a brother for Maggie Mae. She can't wait to meet him and show him around some of her favorite places.
K&J S - Owner of California Carmella, now Maggie Mae and now California Ghandi, now Cooper
I added 2 pictures to this album. We had Roxy groomed last week. She looks very different with eyes! I have to tell you that the goomer said Roxy was the best puppy she has ever groomed, and she has been grooming labradoodles for 20 years. The groomer we found is actually from Australia. She was very impressed with Roxy.
Max is great-growing nicely and is even learning (albeit not perfectly yet) some commands. Everyone he meets loves him and I've given your name to tons of people. He is perfect at night-sleeps 9 hrs w/out any problems. You did a great job w/the crate training.
I misplaced the name of the groomer you like who comes to the house. Can you email me the name and number? Thanks!
We absolutely love Hope! We took her to our cabin on the lake this weekend and she loved it! I walked her in my arms to our local coffee shop where all the gang meets every morning. Everyone wanted to hold her. She was so good, calm and happy. Our two year old is not used to anyone else getting so much attention!
'...Flora is great. We absolutely ADORE her!!!! She has been a big factor in my healing. She has so much personality, compassion and fun in her. We start the day with Flora kisses, and can't imagine life without her. We will try our best to come to the doodle romp next year so you can see for yourself what a sweetheart she is.
Just a quick update again on Teddy. She is the best dog I can imagine, and she's learned so much in puppy class. Can't wait until she gets all her shots so that we can take her on walks. I only have pictures with her and the girls this time but you can see how big she is getting.
...“Delicatessa” (we are trying that name) is the most perfect animal. We are all in love. I know it is soon for pictures, but I wanted to share this one from today.
....Deli is now one of the pack. She and R play constantly. D, our older girl thinks about getting into the play, but then leaves it to the youngsters. Deli is as warm, gentle smart and sweet as you said she was. She does have a thing for jumping in the water bowl. I guess we will get her a little pool, because after a while a flooded kitchen won’t be so cute---now it is priceless.
...We are going to call her Deli because she is delightful and Delicious.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful puppy. I will give her a hug from you.
We were looking at your website and saw another dog named Sierra. We also
realized how remiss we've been in sending a picture. We've been greatly
enjoying Sierra (nee Charites). Her personality, temperament, energy
level, and size fit our family's style well, and you picked beautifully on
our behalf. She's playful, rambunctious, cuddly, chewy, loves to retrieve,
sweet, and funny.
Here are a few pictures, one when she was new to our home and a more
recent one (7 months).
The Doodle Romps look fun. We didn't see when the next one is, assuming
there will be one. Could you let us know, please?
Best regards and happy holidays,

Our family was so fortunate to find you and our sweet Dixie in February. She has been the most amazing addition to our family, more than I ever imagined. It is with profound sadness to tell you she was hit and killed by a car in Lake Tahoe over this last weekend. It happened in an instant, as we were all ready to go for a walk, with her leash in my hand.
She was truly the most lovable, loyal, friendly, and beautiful member of our family, and we are heartbroken. She was so loved and cherished by my three children as well as their friends. She followed us everyone, slept on our beds, waited for us as she sat on top of the couch watching out the window. She took long trail runs with me, never getting more than a few yards ahead before turning around to be sure I was there. She loved the snow and the beach, as we took her everywhere. She was truly so special and so loved.
I know she can never be replaced. But was wondering if you would ever consider our family to one of your special puppies again. We all felt she was the perfect addition to our family, and would again like to share our love one day.
I felt I needed to share this information with you, as she was one of your babies too.
I have attached the last picture of Dixie, taken on our way to Tahoe, sitting on my son C's lap.

I've been meaning to write to you for a long time! 3 1/2 years ago, we adopted Lulu (nee Quilla). ... I don't think it is a stretch to say that having Lulu is one of the most wonderful things that has ever happened to us! I know you have probably heard this many, many times, but Lulu is perfect in every way. We have had dogs (golden retrievers) for over 35 years, and loved them all, but Lulu is by far our most wonderful dog. She is beyond loving and affectionate, smart, well behaved and adorable. My husband and I are both retired, so Lulu is rarely left along for more than a couple of hours at a time. She is so well behaved that we are able to take her with us nearly everywhere. Add to all of this, we have very dear friends in our neighborhood, who also have a dog, with whom we "trade" dogs whenever we need to be away for any length of time. In fact, they take care of Lulu for us for 6-7 weeks every year when we go to Italy. Lulu loves them (they are extended family for her) and is happy and content staying with them.
I could go on and on about Lulu, but the reason I am writing at this time, is to tell you that Lulu and I just graduated from the SHARE (animal assisted therapy) program at the Marin Humane Society. We are now doing our volunteer "work" at The Redwoods in Mill Valley which is a multi level senior housing residential facility. We just started this week (I worked at The Redwoods for 5 years as their Development Director and, in fact, Lulu spent the first 7 months of her life coming to work with me there) but already it is clear how much joy Lulu brings to everyone who comes in contact with her. We are very proud of her and love that she is now able to bring her very special interpersonal gifts to others.
I know it must be very satisfying to you to know that you are raising such special and unique dogs and we wanted to thank you again. I know you were very concerned when Brett told you that she couldn't keep Lulu, but know that it was probably the best thing that could have happened to her; it certainly was for us!!
Everything went just terrific at Augie's vet appt. I took that last 2 fecal specimens in with me and they were clear.....
...Augie was handled by 2 vet techs, Ted and another vet he has working for him and the front desk. Well, Dana, you know Augie. He just was mush in there - even with the smells and sounds. And just laid on the table and loved getting checked out. HA! I massage him, mess with his ears, paws, tail, head, etc all the time so that he experiences getting messed with. He LOVES IT! hahahahaha. He is really funny! And you are so right... that tail is always sweeping back and forth.
...Nothing bothers Augie. When he is playing, he is really playing and when he is relaxed, he is really relaxed.
...Oh, and he knows his name really good now. He will follow me around and is intrigued by anything new. It is like he is memorizing things and where things are kept in here. He is astonishing smart in my opinion. I am constantly amazed by him. And he loves to be picked up or lay on my lap or right next to me. ...Puts his head up by my neck and buries it in, looks up, slurps or kisses, and goes back to the neck bury. ...And he hasn't met a dog yet that he doesn't think is just about the greatest thing on earth. I keep telling Augie... all of them can't be your new best friends. Be a little bit judgmental. Some behave better than others! :)
...Anyway, he passed his vet appt. with flying colors and I just wanted you to know.
I can't believe it has taken me so long to send pictures of Jackie to you. Now I have to confess why: I couldn't take a picture that adequately reflected his "cuteness". I have tons of pictures of Jackie, but he is so much more adorable than any of the pictures. So, I'm going to send the pictures anyway with the understanding that he looks nothing like the photos.
....We are all having a great time.
....L. was walking Jackie the other day. A woman stopped her car and yelled out the window " That is the cutest dog I have ever seen. What kind is it"? ...Jackie has that effect on people. I will definitely refer any admirers.
....I guess my favorite moment happened last night. Freddy broke down in tears at dinner. I took him to the family room and held him as he sobbed. Jackie leaped from across the room into my lap. He pummeled me with his back legs while he dug at Freddy's face with his front paws (Freddy's head was buried in my shoulder). He then proceeded to lick his face frantically. Freddy laughed and the crisis was over (for now).
We're totally in love!.....You've done such a great job getting Nibbles/Ollie prepared for a new family. He just seems so happy with us and we're thrilled with him! We feel so lucky to have him part of our family....and it's only been 1 week!
How are you? We hope you and your family and all your wonderful labradoodles had a happy easter.
We are doing great. Zeke, or Marli as we call him, is doing soooo good. He is almost 10 pounds now. Going to puppy class and doing very good in everything. Potty trained now for 3 weeks, and now we are working hard on all the basic stuff like "stay" and "let go" and "leave it" and he gets it fast. Still calm and content and he still has the most lovely temperament I could ever ask for.
He can stir up a little bit of a crowd in the pet store or anywhere I take him. Not a lot of people down here have ever seen a labradoodle, and now they are very impressed. So I cannot stop recommending Australian Labradoodles to anybody who cares to listen.
These three pictures are from today Monday March 24th. so this is how big and wonderful he looks now. We love him so much. You know why. I hope to see you at a doodle romp soon......
I hope things are well with you, I'll keep you updated with future pictures.
Thank you again for the most wonderful dog I have ever been honored to have.
Sincerely HC - Owner of California Zeke, now Marli
Bodhi already finished puppy classes in just 3 sessions. Trainer said that he was VERY smart and that as long as we keep practicing he is gonna be a great boy. He is so much fun, and continues to be very well behaved.
I was planning to wait until Monday to update you, when little Jasper (Dylan) had been with us a full week. Everything is going fine and we are all full of love for him and so thrilled that he's joined our family!
The first night was a little wild, because he was hyper stimulated by the new surroundings, new people, and his new big brother Castillo. However, beginning Tuesday morning, he and we have fallen into a great rhythm. He's so smart and curious and you can see him learning new things every day. He's very happy in his crate, which is in our room, but has found other cuddly spots in the rooms he's allowed into. He's sleeping through until 5:30 or 6:00 am, and our house gets up at 6:20 am on weekdays anyway, so that's basically a full night. We have found the paper training too much of a hassle so we're monitoring him and taking him outside to his potty area on a frequent schedule. He has little accidents now and then, but overall is doing great. He plays incredible mind games with Castilloover the squeak toys, and can basically get his 90 lb. big brother to drop the most prized toy and give it to him! He loves racing around the ground floor of the house and the backyard (always supervised) and we may take him for a stroll (in our arms) down Burlingame Ave this weekend.
He's been to our vet where the entire staff just melted over how cute heis. The doctor pronounced him sound and healthy, and we made arrangements for his next immunizations. He's met my mother-in-law, who came to puppy
sit while I went to the lunch I mentioned to you yesterday. She was dying to see him, and brought him a wonderful cozy day bed which he loves. I've also called the Lantos Center up here about enrolling him in puppy preschool and am waiting to hear back about availability. The boys want to introduce him to their friends, and we know that the more people he meets in these early weeks the better!
So, all in all, we are so delighted to have this cheery, sweet, super smart little boy join our household. Feel free to check in anytime, and I will make sure to update you as well.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, and to all of your lovely Labradoodles.
Marli-Man is one year old now, and we could not be happier with him. He is sooo good and very well behaved. In the local dog park he is a rock-star. All the other dogs loves to play with him, he gets along with everybody, and their owners loves him too, since he is obviously very cute and soft , and well behaved and he knows his stuff now, but best of all, he listens to his mom. So I am very proud of him. As you can see on the pictures he is all grown up and love to pose for the camera. He weigh in at 24 lb. on his one year birthday 11/30/08. We,of course, will be at the next DoodleRomp, and I have met a lady here in Hollister who also have a Labradoodle, but have never heard about the Doodleromps, so she will come too.
Have some happy holidays, and please let Fudge know how wonderful her puppy is doing and how much we love him. See you some time next year.
Sorry for not emailing sooner... .We are just ecstatic. The first night was
fine... He slept on my bed of course . He is such a bundle of playful joy
.. I had R my friend's husband who is also our vet come over and check
him out... Everything is A OK.. It is so great I have a friend living down the street who does housecalls...
K and I have named Nutmeg .. He is now BRODIE...
Your potty training is a delight to see immediately.
I bought the puppy absorbent pads for the floor and he goes right on them.
Has only missed once and that was the very first night..
We can't tell you enough how we love him and look forward to watching him
grow and yes i WILL SEND PICTURES.
He is also showing signs of being quite smart. K's friend's dog Bella
who visits quite often was showing off her tricks yesterday .. Brodie saw
that she got treats each and every time and so we did the sit command
to Brodie after a few times he got it.. and then got a treat...
We were so impressed... He is eating very well... I got the exact same food
as you had put in the bag ...
i COULD GO ON FOREVER TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH WE ADORE HIM!
I love his coat, his colour everything.
Finally the breed's personality is such a winner, colour and coat are incidental, because once you have this love bunny
in your arms your heart melts with joy....
Thank you again for what you do and the great dogs you raise and I
will stay in touch.....

Here are some pictures of our wonderful Simba. He has transformed our family life and is involved in everything we do. He is playful but often mellow and cuddly. We know we are biased but we think he is the cutest dog in the world as well, and are often told so by strangers.
I still go home to play with him every day at lunch! We have so much fun.
He has also learned a lot in training, and my daughter has taught him some cute tricks as well. Soooo smart!
see photos of him attached!
I'm sending you a recent picture of Murphy Brown (nee California Zoe) . . .sitting on a private plane heading from San Diego to Sonoma.
I can't tell you how happy we are with our new addition. She's got a sweet personality, is smart, friendly and so much fun. We get stopped by strangers every where we take her, all drooling over how adorable she is and wanting to know "what" she is. I've given your contact information to a few folks (at least two of which I think are serious about getting a Labradoodle - one that swore he had no place in his life (he and his wife have 5 kids!) for a puppy, but who's fallen in love with ours), and I hope they follow through as I know they'll be enchanted, too.
She sends her love to her mom, dad and litter mates . . . and to you and your family, of course!
Here is a photo of my sweet pup Mandy and me. She is truly a delightful companion and has enriched my life so very much. We enjoy our walks together and our playtime. She is very good natured and so very smart. She is easy to train but sometimes loves to get in to mischief. She now weighs 20# and is about 17 " tall. She is a very good traveler in her platform seat which is safety belted in. Couldn't have asked for any pup that would have been better.
Thank you so much for matching us up.
Cordially, WG - Owner California Morning Star, now Mandy
Mandy and I walk with our neighbor friends and their furry friends each morning. This past Tuesday one of my walking friends took her camera where our sweet furry friends were all invited to romp, off leash, on their new Astro Turf Lawn. I wanted to share this with you so that you could see how adorable she is.
You can see Mandy, Morning Star born Nov 20th 2006, She is the sweetest, smartest and loving companion anyone could possibly ask for. I love her sooo very much and she has made my life so very enriched with her by my side most of the time unless I am traveling. When I travel she goes to a doggy hotel where she romps all day with other dogs 25# and under and then she has her own bedroom complete with TV where she may watch cartoons. She seems to enjoy it there, but loves home much better. Home is where we are most of the time and she has a wonderful yard complete with a Koi Pond and beautiful flowers and a great real lawn to romp on.
Time has been flying since King is with us and he has become an important member of our family. Everybody loves him and he still attracts a lot of attention wherever we go. He is the cutest dog. He is curious and intelligent and so well behaved that it is hard to believe that he is still a puppy. He hasn’t chewed up or destroyed anything, and he was fully house broken after a couple of weeks. He has a doggy door and moves in and out of the house as he likes. But what he likes best is snuggling with us, or just curling up right at our feet wherever we are. He is very mellow – almost lazy – but likes to play wild dog when we go outdoors. In summary, he is almost too good to be true. .......
Thank you so much for bringing Baron (formerly Zimba) into our life! He's the best dog I've ever had. Intelligent, trainable, cuddly, loving, just the perfect dog. There is already some discussion in the household about getting on the list for another! We just couldn't be happier with him and we can't thank you enough for making it all happen.
Looking forward to the Romp!
We couldn't be more pleased with Bogey. I have read Caesar's new book, Monks of New Skete puppy book and bought the on line clicker training program. The clicker training is fantastic. Bogey has been here 11 days . He sleeps all night. Is 90-95% trained for going to his bed, sitting( at the door prior to coming in and when he wants attention & prior to eating), going to his "house"(crate), and potty training. He comes almost all the time when called. We also ring a bell each time we go outside. He has been meeting people also. Although, we still need more people in our house to be distractions while he is learning.
Initially, it was hard to justify his price. However, by now, we see that there is no doubt that he is worth every penny. All that meet him feel as if he will make a GREAT therapy dog. He is so loving.
Thank you so very much, HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!
MP and LP - California Bogart (Bogey)
p.s. He loved the tricker-treaters. He enjoyed all the attention and didn't care about the costumes!
i just got off the phone with my sister who was over the moon for Yogi and the visit to your property. she was happily impressed and said yogi was "the best." i was beaming from ear to ear on the other side of the telephone, hearing her stories of how he was so gentle, playful, sweet, etc. thank you for having her...
Just wanted to let you know how well Goombah is doing. He passed his
Canine Good Citizen test today and is now certified with the AKC.
The instructor said he was very young to have passed and was very
well trained. I took him to the dog park to slow him down. When I
said "Stay" and walked away from him, he looked at me to say "No
Problem and while I'm at it, maybe a little snooze." LOL. He is the
smartest dog in the world.!.....Thanks for the Goombah d'oro. Life without him is unthinkable.
I would love to provide you with feedback on California Labradoodles! I got Bella from Dana last year and everything about the experience from beginning to end was amazing!
Upon entering California Labradoodles, I knew this was a place where dogs were happy and loved. The environment is spectacular! They have a lot of grassy areas and a field to run and play in, the outdoor doggie play area is spacious, the house is filled with toys and the whelping area had everything a young puppy could want or need. The amount of love and care Dana gives to her dogs is apparent in the home environment she provides for them. Her dogs are very loved members of her family. Even the puppies who eventually leave for new homes aer treated with love and care. Before entering any area with puppies I had to dip my feet in bleach and wash my hands - just a little testament to the attention to detail and protection Dana gives her dogs.
Every time I came by to visit Calfiornia Labradoodles, I could see that Dana had devloped a relationship with each of the puppies in the litter, as well as in the other litter that was getting ready to go to new homes, and that she knew their characters and traits very well.
Bella came to me at three months old. She was almost potty trained and knew the sit command. She was well groomed and healthy. Dana showed me how to care for her - how to clean her ears and cut her nails - and sent Bella to me with a little stuffed toy and some treats. Again, small actions that show much she cares for each individual puppy.
Dana has always made herself available to me whenever I have any questions about Bella or Labradoodles in general. She is very knowledgeable in every concern regarding Labradoodles. I feel she is among the most ethical, knowledgeable and caring breeders and I highly recommend her to anyone who would like a Labradoodle.
....Yente is absolutely wonderful! What a sweet little girl. We blocked our kitchen off with toy boxes for a nursery, and she divided the evening between climbing up on laps for cuddles and chasing the little chew toy we got for her - and bringing it back every time! We can see the labrador in her, already. (Nero has always been highly skeptical of the idea of giving *his* toy to us.)
....We had a laugh last night when R warmed up his dinner. Yente followed him right to the microwave and then sat at his feet, nice as pie, waiting to see if he planned to share. We can tell this puppy's been around people and kitchens! We've taken her out in the yard at regular intervals to Nero's "spot" and she's been 100% perfect after her first coming-home piddle on the floor. She's on the way to being housebroken already. We're astounded, since it took Nero months and months and months (not his fault, entirelly. we didn't have a yard then.)
....At bed time, we put yente in her crate in the kitchen and she howled like the house was on fire - for exactly three minutes. Not another peep out of her until I dragged the poor thing out of bed at 6am. All in all, we're in heaven.
We took lots of pictures, but I haven't uploaded them to the computer, yet, so you'll hear from us again soon.
Thanks so much for sending us your little bundle of joy!
Hi Dana-- Hapa is doing very well, growing like a weed, going through the crazy puppy stage yet we have been able to instill the basic training and she's been through half of her puppy classes. We have a place in Carmel and she loves the beach and does well meeting the other dogs off leash and, while she is more often chased than chasing, she is very eager to greet them all. We are constantly approached in Carmel by people asking what breed she is and telling us how cute, adorable, etc she is. It's amazing how often that happens. People just love her (as we do--she makes my husband happy, which is what I'd hoped for since she was my birthday gift to him). Those people who know she is a Labradoodle say that she's the best looking one they have seen."
Well we are totally in love with our gorgeous little boy puppy, Zack. We have submitted an application and deposit for a second puppy, requesting a female this time. I did everything on-line and used pay-pal for the deposit.
We are just so deighted with Zack. He is just such an adorable cute little guy. He is doing excellent with sleeping thru the night in his crate. He is doing really well with house training and in general just charms and delights all who meet him! Thank-you. We look forward to getting notification about our female.
Anytime for the second, when ever one becomes
available that you think would fit. We know the books
suggest waiting but we are ready to make the extra
effort to give both puppies the time and attention
they need in the early months. ...We certainly understand how you became smitten with these dogs and moved toward becoming a breeder. We feel so fortunate to have you located
nearby. Zack is a poster boy for your breeding program
and we can't tell you how many folks we have directed
to your web site. Thanks for everything,
I and M - Owner of California Zack (pictured on the left above) and now California Emily (pictured on the right above)
How are you doing? We're all fine here and still in puppy love. Poppy just could not be cuter or smarter or more fun....what a gem. I've had people stop their cars on the street while I am walking her, roll down their window and quiz me on her breed, where we got her, etc...
Hi Dana! ... He has been absolutely perfect!! We are all settling in together and couldn't be happier! He's an angel!!We have our vet visit set up for Thursday. I'll be snapping some photos and sending them around so therest of the extended family can meet him, I'll be sure to include you in those emails.thanks for everything! We're so in love with our new lil' addition!
best, RG "- Owner of California Zaire
I spoke to T last night and he is certain that the puppy is a wonder dog. He sleeps in his crate, follows each around and poops outside, plus he has a GREAT personality. I think together they are all in the right family.
Thanks for all of your help

I have been asked to send you information regarding my experience with California Labradoodles and California Emmy.
I had been researching Labradoodles for quite some time and through our neighbor, I was recommended to Dana. From the first moment of contact I could tell that Dana was extremely knowledgeable and someone that I would be interested in getting to know. California Labradoodles is located in Northern California very close to us, so I went right over to meet her. The Family home and site of California Labradoodles is beautiful. The home is on a several acre piece of property with rolling Hills and Large mature oak trees. The mature Adult dogs are in the main house and are always very close to the family and the new mothers and their puppies are in the quest house which is also Dana's office. This set up is wonderful because it keeps the dogs close to Dana all day and they become very comfortable with people. The Adult dogs and puppies sleep in her children's bedrooms; she has three Darling boys that are as crazy about the Labradoodles as she is. Both the home and guest house are spotless. When I adopted Emmy, Dana was very careful to make sure we were the type of family she wanted for Emmy. She came to visit my house, spoke with my neighbor and checked on the care of our previous dog with the Pet Hospital.
Now a bit about Emmy. She is curled up at my feet as I am writing this, exhausted after a walk around the neighborhood. I usually play with her in the yard; there is lots of room for her to run. I take her out in the neighborhood every other day or so, just to show her off. She is always perfectly behaved and sits right next to me when we are approached by anyone. She gently sniffs other dogs and children but only when I tell her it is ok. Emmy is very gentle with my three grand children ages 1, 2 & 3, my brothers children, and my own 15 year old. When Emmy was a little puppy I would take chew sticks and bones out of her mouth then pretend to eat them and then give them back. I did this so that she wouldn't snap or growl if the kids were to bother her while she was eating or chewing on a bone. She loves them and seems to have a sense that they are small and she should not jump on them or knock them over. Of course I am teaching the children to stay away from dogs when they are eating but luckily with Emmy she could care less and never feels threatened or bothered by the children. Emmy is very social and especially happy when we are all home and giving her a lot of attention. She travels well and accompanies us when we go to our home in Palm Springs. Emmy is a bit mischievous she loves to hide her bones in the couch and she steals anything left on the floor that shouldn't be there. Emmy doesn't bark other than a brief warning and she is happy when left alone for short periods of time. Emmy is extremely smart and as cute as a button.
I would highly recommend Dana and California Labradoodles and would be happy to speak with anyone interested in a Labradoodle.
I will send a photo in another e-mail after this I can't figure out how to attach them to this e-mai.
...We were hoping to make it [to the doodle romp], but my youngest daughters's school had a big event today. Midnight (aka Kira) is a spirited, loveable, fun dog. We are so glad that we have her and constantly recommend you as the breeder to get your dog from. She's a skinny little thing (about 17 lbs) who's trying to get me to play as I write. Hope you had a good romp.
Yummy has been named Coco. She is sleeping through the night like a good girl and eating well. She is all puppy when we play with her outside and sweet and content when we hold her. She has mastered a few steps to get to the backyard and is becoming more comfortable with our home. She has an amazing temperament and her coat is gorgeous. We are all loving her. Hope all your other families are enjoying their new pups as much as we are. Have a good weekend.
Just thought we'd share some recent pictures of Barley (aka Zulu).
He's doing very well and happy, and is fantastically chill. We got
constant comments on his temperament and training and have given out
your website a few times.
These were taken this last weekend by a friend of mine visiting:
As you can see he's developed a little bit of an amber tinge, which we
think is great. He's still very soft and cuddly.
Would you mind letting us know when the next romp is - we'd love to
see his other family members.
See you have lots of new puppies. We had Embers (Lacee) picture taken for her first birthday. I'll send you one. She is doing very well and she is very spoiled. D... takes her everywhere and only eats at dog friendly places. He is over the top. I'm thinking about getting him another one. I like the look of Ozzie. We tell everyone to get there puppies from you. Lacee is a head stopper. She is well known in Willow Glen. She goes to Pete's coffee every morning. She has her own little fan club and they come and visit her there and at D's business. Thank you so much for breeding such good dogs.
Hope you are well. Here is Coco on her first birthday. She has kept
her beautiful brown color. As her hair gets longer she has red
highlights and we have noticed just recently that she is sporting a
few white or cream hairs. Hard to tell. She has been a great dog.
Super smart and easy going. She has been on a few trips with us and
we take her lots of places when we are home. Wherever we go people
always comment on her and how beautiful she is. I have had lots of
inquiries on where we got her from. She loves her toys and I walk her
3 miles a day where she runs into lots of friends. When she sees a
new dog she goes down and waits until they get close and then prances
on them. She weighs around 16 or 17 pounds. She is very spoiled. In
fact there was hardly anything at the pet store to get her for her
birthday that she didn't already have.
We love her dearly and so does everyone else. She has a fan club.
Take care and happy holidays!
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you about California Delicious. He is now almost 6 months old and we named him Piper. Piper is an incredibly loving and playful soul and we are so lucky to have him as a member of our family. His favorite things are being chased at the dog park with his buddies or romping in nature including chasing lots of leaves and rolling in the grass or visiting our local beach. He is incredibly smart and curious which has made training challenging yet successful through work and patience. We hope to see you at a doodle romp in the future and plan to get a companion for piper from california labradoodles in the near future.
all our best,
L and J W- Owners of California Delicious, now Piper
Bandit is doing great ! Slept through the night each night. He has only had a couple of pee accidents. C & C love playing with him and he loves playing with them. When we got home from your house he didn't really want to eat ....C was the only one he would eat for :o).
When we pick him up he is such a snuggler... we love that. He is real comfortable and loves his dog bed and toys. Each person that has come over to our house has fallen in love with him.
Bandit is such a great addition to our family ! Thank you for such a wonderful puppy.
This is C's wife. I just wanted to let you know that I just love our little Sadie! She has made quite an impression on everyone she has met-what an unbelievable disposition. She went to a Christmas party (16 people) last night and a hannukuh (sp) party today (30+). Last night when we arrived home, she went into our room and went straight to her kennel, walked in and fell asleep. She is a delight and she makes us so very happy.
Chico is doing very well in his new home and he's starting to go to the bathroom outside now! He's in a puppy training class and has successfully completed Basic obedience Training. We've included some pictures of him for you to enjoy.
J, K, D & A - Owners of California Chico, now Gunner
We are all doing great and Jolie is very happy!!! (and so are my kids!!!) I think it safe to say that she couldn't possibly be more loved. I am just having to back everyone off at times so she can have some downtime to rest. She really is a VERY special girl.
Sleeping is going EXTREMELY well. Both nights, she essentially walked into her crate on her own and went to bed. The kids ended up waking her up out of excitement at 6:30...Jolie probably would have slept longer. Instead of breeding her, you might consider cloning her (just kidding here in case the humor isn’t translating in email).
...she is a complete love. She plays with pure joy and snuggles like none of my kids ever did. She watched the movie “Snow Buddies” last night with us by a roaring fire and was content as can be taking turns sitting on each person’s lap. As I am typing this my ten year old, whose birthday is on October... just came in to tell me that on her next birthday she wants to share a cake with Jolie that says "Happy Birthday S & Jolie" - safe to say that everyone around here is in love. Even S who was the hardest to convince on this subject is amazed at how good she is and after the kids go to bed can be found lying on the kitchen floor playing peek-a-boo with her.
We thought you would enjoy a picture of Max, who is in love with the snow......although snow bathrooms are really cold! If all the people who have admired him, and to whom we have given your name, actually call you......2009 will be a great year for California Labradoodles :)
Gracie continues to be a delight. Is very active and loves
to play ball and go on walks. She is 17 pounds and her coat is so
soft. She is well behaved with all of our many visitors, but is also
a very good watch dog. We are totally in love with her. Thanks for
Harley is great, he sailed through puppy class, graduated top student and has already started intermediate class. He does all the commands with ease, of course only when he wants to. He is a fun loving guy and somewhat of a prankster, he will grab something of mine, usually something I need and run then hide it, sometimes never to be seen again.
He gets alot of attention when out walking, I know you have already heard from one neighbor and I gave your email to another one recently!
Can you believe he is now 5 months old and weighs 24 lbs! I will get my neighbor to send you more pictures. He still plays daily with Nelly Rose, and walks about 2 1/2 miles a day! If we don't get our exercise we get into all sorts of trouble!
Hope you're well. Judging by the pictures on the website, you're probably VERY busy taking care of all the new puppies!
We wanted to send you a photo of Tucker we took last weekend so you can see how much he has grown. We took him to our home in Tahoe-- the first time he has traveled anywhere outside of Hillsborough. He is a great little traveler!
We love him dearly and are still surprised at how much joy and happiness he has brought to our household.
Thanks Dana for the kind words. I know I've told you this a zillion times, but I just love Vinnie. I've wanted a dog of my very own for such a long time, ever since my first childhood dog died while I was away at college. It's a dream come true for me, and training Vinnie is definitely the highlight of every day for me. It's also been wonderful for J, who never had any pets as a child. He's head over heals for Vinnie, and I love watching my two guys play together. Fetch is their specialty. I can't wait for the next time you're able to see him... he's growing up quickly! We're having a play date with M and M's dogs in a couple of weeks, which should be a great time for all.
Phantome has really settled in. I think the picture speaks for itself. She is sooo smart and loves to cuddle. She also loves to play fetch, and is really good at it. She has been so good about going outside, and has already learned to use her doggie door here. We are currently looking around for a good puppy class for her to start once she gets her next round of shots. We have also taken here out and about to meet people in the neighborhood, and everyone has fallen in love with her. We will send more (higher quality) pics, in the coming weeks. Thank you again for everything!
It was so nice to see you the other day. I thought you might like to see a picture of Poppy (Imani) after her last grooming. She is such a smart and wonderful dog...you can’t imagine how much we adore her. Happy holidays to you and your family!
Thought you'd like to know that we're celebrating Grady's 1 year birthday today with all his doggie buddies and lots of brisk walks with ball throwing. Grady is thoroughly adored to the point where he's clearly the most loved member of our family in the eyes of our children. And that's quite OK with us.
Grady is a wonderful gift in our lives. Thank you!
Rex ( California Waldo - parents Lacey and Mitch ) will be two years old this September 15th and we would like to add another labradoodle to our family. I've attached two pictures of our little Rexy baby - he is a joy to all of us!!!! The best personality and snuggler!!! I've never known a dog to "spoon" someone but he has an uncanny ability to jump into anyone's bed, do a little half turn in the air and snuggle down in front of the person laying in bed so that they spoon him. Hilarious!!
He's also very smart and was easy to train. People laugh when they see me carrying him around on my hip like a child - he's just like a little boy but in a dog suit!
Anyways, I could go on and on about Rex but I'd like to see if there are still available spots for an upcoming litter. My youngest daughter got to pick out the dog this time and she wanted another labradoodle .... but would like a girl. She's already picked out the name "Lucie" or "Lucy" and wants everything to be pink!!! She's been online picking out pink dog beds, pink collars, pink toys, etc.
Can you help?
Just wanted to give you an update on Honey. She celebrated her first birthday with her two best friends, Bella and Sadie. She's very social and enjoys being with her friends! She's about 20 pounds now, and she's so much fun. Her favorite game in the world is fetch - she never gets tired of playing. She's also a great cuddler when it's time to be quiet. Just wanted to let you know that she's doing great!
Roxie has been fantastic all afternoon and evening! She has cycled through play/sleep about four times and had a blast running around our back yard with O part of the time and playing inside part of the time. She seems very happy and playful with her tail wagging. Every once in while she runs to me or O for snuggles and reassurance and then happily resumes playing. She only whined a little when we sat down to eat dinner but then settled down and went to sleep. She went potty outside a bunch of times and we had no accidents inside!
Roxie is sound asleep in her crate in O's room and she only cried a little bit off and on for about three minutes. O fell asleep about 20 minutes later so all is quiet.
Roxie is wonderful and we are all crazy in love with her already. Even O's grandmother who visited today is crazy for her. She is just the sweetest little love bug. We will send pictures soon. Thank you so much for such a lovely, yummy little puppy.
This dog owns our hearts and like you said he's very smart. He's pretty much the best in the classes we've taken so far, and the instructor is always pointing out to the class that what Hershey does is what they are striving for. He also has a big vocabulary. He fetches; finds: ball, frizbee, toy, shoe. Obeys sit, down, come, drop it and stay. Goes to bed on command. Hasn't pottied in the house since he was 3 months old. Barks at the door to go outside. We're currently working on longer time stays with distractions, and come at a greater distance with distractions. He loves everyone and isn't bothered much by anything - no anxiety; keep having play dates with all sorts of dogs and kids of different ages and take him everywhere I can. He's very well behaved.
I just put her to sleep! I could not have asked for a better dog! She is my first but every dog owner that has met her cannot believe how sweet and friendly she is. We love her so much! Thanks again she is my sweet little girl who follows me everywhere, loves my niece and nephew, obeys, and best of all already feels like part of our little family! I will send pics and update you soon.
I just wanted to let you know that California Sugar -- now known as Sadie Rose -- is doing wonderfully in her new home here in Oakland. She is such an adorable pup and has weathered MANY visits from friends and neighbors with great aplomb and much friendly licking! She's sleeping through the night in her crate and loves to hang out there for her naps or in my lap or under whatever chair I might be sitting in. My girls, E and R adore her and actually quarrel over who will feed her, who will hold her, who will take her out to potty. Sadie is getting a lot of love -- she's a fabulous girl. Thanks so much!
Wishing you a happy vacation with your family. I wanted to thank you for Summer. What a joy she is. She has settled in instantaneously and beautifully. She spent her afternoon exploring with that wonderful, intelligent curiousity and played with her new family and toys with abandon. She had a little walk on her leash down our street where she was so curious about every thing she encountered, demonstrating appropriate caution at times but never fear. She ate her full supper and willingly went "nite-nite" into her crate at 9:30pm where she slept all through the night until 6am. Yay!!! Just as you said she would! She did her business outside in the morning and has spent the morning entertaining us with her comedic side. She is very playful, funny, and loving, and oh-so-smart! In the words of Taylor, "she is perfect" and just the puppy we've been waiting for and hoping for.

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you that Ottley is wonderful! He is now twelve pounds and a complete sweetheart. He attends Puppy Kindergarten at SF Puppy Prep, which we all loved. Each week, I take Ottley and one child with me for some fun. He graduates this Saturday, and we are so proud of him! He is smart and has learned so much these past weeks. We have also done private training at the house with Ottley and the kids.
He enjoys walking E to preschool in the morning, and he loves riding in the car to pick up J and C in the afternoon. He comes to baseball games and loves fetch in the backyard. He does really well playing with other dog friends. He is playful and bouncy. We can't imagine our family life without him! Jack (8) recently taught him how to 'shake' with his paw. It's adorable.
Thank you so much for everything you did for him when he was tiny. He has such a sweet disposition, and we know that your care (and your sons' care) played a big part in that.
Sorry for the late pictures!
Kona is doing great... He just had his first day of doggie obedience school yesterday and he loved playing with the other puppies.
He's really smart and learning lots of tricks. He sleeps through the night now and doing well with potty training. I bring him to work and he loves getting attention from the kids and their parents all day long!
Hope you enjoy the pictures of our beautiful Kona.
This is K, the owner of California Jalapaeno (now Nellie). Just wanted to show you some updated pics of beautiful Nell. As you can imagine, I'm more in love with her now than ever... could not ask for a better dog. She's incredibly smart, and SUCH a talker. I think she's human sometimes...really.
ps-I'm sending some people your way that want puppies. Everyone who sees Nellie asks where they can "get one just like her" :)
Nice to hear from you. Here are some pictures of Perseus. You may remember he passed his first birthday in June & it was celebrated accordingly. And again in August, which was the first anniversary of his joining our family. He is a beautiful, gorgeous dog & much loved. He has grown wonderfully up - a sweet disposition & has been very easy to train (we did puppy class, Family Dog I & II & some sessions with a private trainer) & seems to have grown out of his adolescent punkiness to mature into the best, and sensitive dog ever.
My daughter also wants to add a few words (as his major caregiver/trainer/companion):
Persy is very sweet, he has been punky lately and very cute. When we walk we get about 20 compliments on how cute he is. I have been training Perseus for a while now, he knows: sit, down from a sit and stand, high five, roll over, shake, were still working on stay and come. Persy loves to swim in the ocean, but doesn't like pools, and his new napping bed is my bed, he comes in and curls up there is a picture bellow of him doing that. ...
thank you for our wonderful dog!
He is 18 pounds pure joy hidden under mounds of soft, golden fleece. From his black button nose, to his caramel-dipped ears, to the white racing stripe his rear end - he is the cutest thing! I need to have your business cards with me every time I take him out for a walk... Or maybe I need to print up cards for Ollie. People always asking his name, his age, his breed, where I got him, etc... he's just a rock star around here. .
I have been wanting to update you on Bandit. Today is his 1 year birthday! I have attached some pictures that we have taken over the last few months. I have alot but, will only attach some ( 7 ).
Bandit is the best dog W & I have ever had. He has something special with each of us. Bandit is with me the most ,since I am a stay at home mom. He likes to keep track of where I am at all times. He loves to watch sports with W (he actually watches the tv) and meets him at the door each night for some great scratching & rubbing. Each morning he goes out to potty then straight into C's (12 yrs old) room to snuggle up with him, for an hour or so until everyone is awake. C (9 yrs old) & Bandit play hide n seek and chase .. he loves these games.
Bandit stands up to his name , he steals things all the time from the laundry bucket , towels from kitchen counter (to play tug a war, we win). He will wait at the dryer while I am doing laundry to see if anything falls out , so he can grab & run away with it .. one of his favorite things is the Bounce dryer sheet. He is the most curious dog we have ever seen. Absolutely everything we are involved in,he has to check it out thoroughly.
We purchased a little plastic pool for him this summer to play and cool off in, he loves his pool. Trying to fill it up can be a challenge if he is around because, he loves the running hose more than the pool. He will take it out and shake it and bite at the water. He also has a strange fascination for chewing on sticks, roots, anything wood ..outside. We found a groomer that listens to us and does not groom him like a poodle :o).
Bandit is sweet, adorable, very funny and has a wonderful temperament. C has not had any allergic reactions to him at all! He could not be more perfect for our family.
We check your web site frequently to see if Dreamer or Cody have added to Bandit's family tree. We see that Dreamer just had puppies a short time ago, they are darling. We hope this email finds you & your family doing wonderful.

Thought you might be interested in how California Jelly (our Molly) has grown into a yearling. She has been a wonderful little puppy and we have enjoyed watching her grow and develop. We constantly get compliments on her looks and demeaner (needs a little more work on behavier however she is a bit spoiled). She is a great traveller, both by car and motorhome, having put on a few thousand miles in her short lifetime. You have done a great job in your breeding and we thank you for the opportunity of making a home for one of your puppies.
Hi Dana, hope all is well with you. We are ready to go ahead with a new addition to our family!!! I had sent in a deposit with you some time ago, and was wondering what you have coming available this spring/summer. I am looking for a smaller doodle( the smaller the better!!!) and would love a red one. We would also like a female. If you could get back to me I would appreciate it. Looking forward to hearing from you!!!
P.S. California Queenie( Jazz ) is the sweetest love, she is the reason we are so excited to get another doodle!!! Your dogs have the best temperament and personality, we wouldn't think of going anywhere else
Hi Dana - sorry it's been a while....I've been kinda waiting to see if a "crazy puppy" is going to emerge (everyone keeps warning me) but so far Oliver is the best little guy. So sweet, gentle, connected, confident, playful....should I go on? He is just great. Our trainer said he's been training Australian Labradoodles for a long time and "I know you paid a lot of money for him but he's worth every penny!" He gives strangers kisses, he loves his new big brother cat Taz and he gets to hang out with Nico and I almost 24-7. Doing great on potty training, working on leash, sit, down and high ten. We'll keep you posted on our little lovebug.
The B Family - Owner of California Wally, now Oliver
The puppy is having a ball as much as the kids...well and me too. This has worked out just perfect and I owe much of it to you. I really enjoyed te visit with you also. You are quality people. I will stay in touch.
We are still debating her name. It will need to be original.
Hi Dana- thought you'd enjoy this pic from this afternoon. We've decided to call him Oliver (Ollie). And no I didn't get any names - it wasn't until the drive home I realized that it was kinda weird. We have our first training session and vet appt tomorrow, will keep you posted. Already we're amazed at how smart he is!
Thanks for your email earlier with all the info, I really appreciate it. Oliver is doing great with his potty training. He spent the morning bonding with Dad and played lots of games. He goes to his bed and his crate on his own to rest and chew his toys but his favorite spot is resting literally on our feet or in our laps. We are falling in love with Rosie's sweet boy :)
Our first night with Heather - now known as Lucy was lovely. She is a very sweet little girl. She is very attached to Zoe and my daughter couldn't be happier about that! She snuggled with Z and both Z and the puppy fell asleep together on the coach at 6 PM for an hour (big day for both of them).
Last night when we were having dinner she wimpered quitely to let us know she wanted to go out. You were correct - she slept quietly her first night - not a peep out of her from 9:00 pm until 6:00 am with no accidents. We brought her right outside. We fed her breakfast and back outside again.
Just wanted to let you know things are going great here with Zavier, now Rufus. He is a delight. The kids and their friends are wild over him and it is so funny to watch him try to engage our more serious schnauzer--it is a great balance.
Rufus has been to the vet and checked out perfectly. He has been sleeping and eating well. He has already had a few backyard play dates at our place with some neighborhood dogs. Basically everything has gone as well as I could have imagined. Thank you so much again for this wonderful puppy I'll attach a photo of one of my sons with the two dogs.
We have been working on his 'Stay' and 'Wait'. So, today Jane took him out for a walk and he wouldn't go out the front door until she said 'finished' then he sauntered through the doorway for his walk. He's getting much better at not pulling on the leash. He mostly just walks right next to our sides.

Sorry, we've been crazy the last couple of weeks, so between 'Gundo and family we've been up to our eyeballs. He has grown A LOT! Last week he was 15#. I wish I had measured his length and shoulder height when we first got him because I swear is he over an inch taller and probably 2 inches longer. Of course, with all that hair, he looks like he must weigh 30#. He loves to be with his 'peeps'. He always follows when we go to a different room, if only for a second. When I returned today, after 3 days away, he licked me all over, went to be sure Jane was coming in, and then resumed his licking.
He's SO SMART. For over 2 weeks, if we were playing fetch, and he didn't get whatever fetch object we were using, back to us, if we sais "Where's your toy?" he turned back and went to get it. He is really good about dropping the fetched object at our feet (or within 2-3 feet. About 10 days ago, his crate door had swung closed and he wanted something in there. He noticed that when he bumped the door, it bounced back. He bumped it a couple more times and then stuck he nose in the door just after one of the bumps. the next day he whacked it with his paw to get it to bounce open. The next day he used his paw and claws to get it open.
He loves to try to make friends with other dogs, but is a little leary if the dogs are aggressive acting, but usually wins them over if given enough time. He and the goldendoodle are fast friends and love to chase each other, play fight and play tug-o-war until they can't move any longer. He befriended a terrier mix rescue doggie that the owner was concerned was unfriendly. Now he and the g'doodle romp as a threesome sometimes.
He has no trouble with 4+ mile walks up and down steep hills. Then, on returning, he wants to play chase or whatever. A couple of hours later he is ready to play with the neighboring dogs. I can't wait to take him on some of my shorter runs. I run him up the street a few houses, but he isn't ready for anything longer, yet.
Jane's sister wants him. Well, really she wants a miniature just like him. So, don't be surprised......!
Anyway, it's late and I just got home this evening, so I'm off to bed.

Hello Dana: Thought I'd share this adorable photo of Segundo showing off his newest trick! Gundo is such a quick study, and so desirous of doing what you want him to.... Except, of course, when he doesn't want to....:-) We have nicknamed him Gundoggle (as in boondoggle) in a nod to the (happy) upending of our household and lives he hath wrought! We love him!!! Hope this finds you and your family enjoying your summer.
I just wanted to give you a quick update on Ululani. She is everything we thought she would be and so much more! You matched her personality perfectly with what we desired. I couldn't imagine a more loveable and sweet girl. She definitely likes to play and can even be rambunctious at times but that is also what makes her so special. I have attached a few pictures so you can see what a beautiful dog she has become. She just turned 1 yr old this week. I saw that Dreamer just had a litter, it is hard to imagine that it has already been a year since Ululani flew (literally) into our lives!
We're doing great. It's been a busy weekend. Puppy is hanging in there very well. Friday afternoon, the girls were shocked! Puppy (we think she will be Casey) was nervous at first but as soon as she discovered the grass area in the backyard, she became very playful... tail wagging, jumping, running, but still a bit nervous inside the laundry room. The first night, not a whimper in the crate, but she did go pee by morning. Otherwise, she has already found her spot outside to potty, and it's working well.
Last night, we went over to a friend's house for dinner with puppy. Twice she went pee on the doormat. It didn't occur to me until this morning (when she went pee on my laundry room doormat) that she was considering the doormats "paper". So out with the doormat. This morning she barked for the first time. So cute. Also, she did not pee in her crate last night and bounced out without any help this morning. I can tell her tummy feels better today because she rolled over on her back for a belly rub.
K, my 7 year old, says that there is no dog more perfect for us than this puppy. My husband, J, is so happy with her disposition and size. I am so grateful to you for choosing so carefully.
Please do stay in touch. I'll do the same. Feel free to drop by announced or unannounced any time.
I keep seeing your friend P at Bob Guiterrez' "Better Way Dog Training" classes. She's really nice and tells me that Zubin is doing great. I know he's great without being told but not in the training dept so that's nice to hear.
He is wonderful and calming down out of his early puppy more frenetic bouts. I think we are going to train him to be a therapy dog going around to people in hospitals and homes to bring comfort. I'm really excited about this.
One day I was on a walk at Fort Funston with him and someone came by and said, "Is he from California Labradoodles?" In great surprise I answered "Yes, how could you tell?!" The person said you have a definite breeding style and it's evident. Apparently it is! Amazing!
We feel very lucky that our glorious dog came from you!
Hope all's well with you
happy holidays and New Year
Thanks again for such a joy! We're having a ball w/Camille. She slept most of the ride home in my dad's lap; then we surprised all four kids & Camille was so excited; and now's she's quite tired and sleeping soundly. She ate a healthy dinner and has pottied & pooped right on que. She's really connected with our 10-year old C and also seems to have a soft spot for our baby B.
She had a nice car ride home and being home for the last 4 hrs she has been playful, curious and loving.
She did not eat much at all - in fact, she didn't eat at 4:15 when we arrived home - she ate a couple of bites of her food at 7:30. So, I will store that for tomorrow a.m. I have a fenced in area with newspapers, her v small crate, toys, a donut bed. We have her right now, however, in our family room while we watch Survivor. She is snoozing on her oversized family room doggie pillow (matches decor of course).
She is responding to Annie's commands to 'Come' and Annie is teaching her the 'Wait' command (we Tivo 'It's me or the Dog') with treats of course.
We wanted to let you know how much we're enjoying Camille, and how much she's enjoying her new home. Her personality has really been on display over the last few days - sweet, smart, loving, playful, and very affectionate. She's quite a character. The kids are already very attached, as are J and I. We've included a picture below.
We wanted to send you a message to let you know that Buster had a good first night and morning with us.
He had a great first night with the family. He played very well with all of us. He is getting acquainted with his new surroundings and being very playful and inquisitive. We can tell how smart he is. He loves the girls and they love him. So far so good on my daughter's allergies, as well. We could not have asked for a better addition to our family.
He slept pretty much on schedule from about 9:30PM to about 5:30AM last night in his crate. He only whimpered and whined for about 10-15 minutes when we first put him in his crate.
He had a great time coming with the girls and me for drop off this morning, while I held him. He was a big hit with the girls friends.
He is so good with the kids and I cannot believe how much he loves people. The family is over the moon with Buster joining us.
I just wanted to let you know how it went on the first day and to thank you again so much. Have a happy holidays and we will provide you with more updates and pictures soon.
Wanted to update you about tigger. Yogi and Tigger have become best friends. They played all evening and Yogi was very excited to have him and Tigger even more excited to have a Big Brother. In the late evening they both curled up in Yogi's bed. Yogi seemed to like Tigger's toys and Tigger liked Yogi's toys and bed. Now both are fast asleep.
My daughter was very excited and had all her friends come and visit tigger. Thank you both for this wonderful addition to our family. We feel truly blessed. Will send pictures soon of tigger sleeping on top of Yogi and cuddling up to him.
I wanted to say "hello" and send you a pic of Cora (who I've named Kaya). She is doing really well and we are quite enjoying each other! I take her out (in my arms) every day so she can meet people. Everyone loves her and she is so so friendly!
I wanted to provide you with another update on Buster. He is doing well. He checked out healthy at the vet. He will be getting his second round of shots on January 3. He is eating well and we have had to up his food portions. His potty training is progressing well. He is trying hard and everyday he has less accidents (Yeah!).
He continues to be good with the kids. He is such a well mannered puppy. We are helping the girls learn how to act around Buster, as well. Buster will be starting private puppy training classes with the family with SF Puppy Prep here in San Francisco this week. This place came recommended by many of our friends as a great place for private training, public training, dog walking, and dog socials in the city.
Buster is acclimating to the city sounds and smells very well. He has gone on daily walks through the neighborhood and is a big hit with everybody. He met his Labradoodle neighbor/friend (Sophie) this week. She is a 4 year old with all shots and they played so well together. She was so excited to see him and every time she sees him outside now, she calls for him to play with her.
I also wanted to let you know that we have referred at least 5 friends and other people already to your site.
I have attached a picture that we took middle of last week so you can see him. We will send another update after the holidays to let you know how things are going.
All is going well with Freddy. Tonight he was amazing. We weren’t sure whether or not to take him with us as we visited two different homes full of friends and family but he was under his best behavior for everyone and it turn out to be a wonderful evening. He snuggled a half dozen small children without biting a single finger. He played up to at least a dozen adults without biting a single one and he was the perfect gentleman… He even quietly rested while we ate our dinner. Everyone adored him and one couple even told me that they now have plans to shop for a labradoodle when they are ready to add to their family.
I'm sorry you didn't receive my last email. It was a gushing email about how great Newton is! He is very calm and fits in wonderfully with our family. We love him!
Are all your dogs calm like this or did you select him with this trait for us since we requested it? I'm just curious because we think he's remarkable. Totally crate trained & potty trained since the first week. Crate training makes things so much easier and he really likes it. He gets at least two walks to and from school each day and we're socializing him with tons of dogs & people. We take him all over the place. Thank you for delivering such a wonderful pet to us.
Just wanted to thank you again for all your understanding and your flexibility with Ava. She is just adorable. I have attached two photos. The one in her bed, she had taken every toy into bed with her and then fell asleep. The second one is M and her watching tv. Both seem pretty happy. Thank you for everything. I will be sure to keep you updated and feel free to email us also.
Well Ava had her second visit to the vet today. She is doing great!! First visit weighed 5 lbs. 1 oz. and today is weighing 6 lbs. 8 oz. She is adjusting well to her new home and we couldn't love her more. She walks on a leash (only in our yard) and will fetch the ball, most of the time bringing it back to us. She is such a love. I know you said she probably wouldn't make a great therapy dog, but she already is for me. She is just what I needed at the right time. She rides well in the car and enjoys outings with me. She goes for long walks to Starbucks, the children's park, my dental office and even to the senior facility my mom lived at. All in the stroller. I need a sign for the stroller that says she is not spoiled (much), just hasn't had her shots yet. The pictures I have attached are of some of our daily activities. I send them to Mike at work and he forwards them to her fan club. Everyone thinks she is the most adorable dog they have ever seen. Anyway, just wanted to give you an update and again to say thank you.
What a wonderful little girl. We are so in love with her. Potty training a breeze, getting along with the ElderYorkie, wowed the vet and went to art class with me today. Goes for next puppy shots first week of May then we head for San Diego May 6. Our vet gave high praises for your program and thoroughness. Thanks again.
Hi Dana- I have been meaning to write you for a while but haven't gotten around to it. Juno (primadonna) just turned 2, and I cannot adequately put into words how she has added to our lives, especially mine. I am sure you don't remember but I had contacted you after our dog (a poodle mix) died suddenly at age 14. My mother had died several months before and I was still grieving that loss. Juno has brought happiness and companionship when I most needed it. You were right about her disposition- although she is very attached to me, she shares her affection easily with others. She loves running in circles at the park and yet is not at all hyper at home. I will send you some pictures separately--
Hope you are well- looks like from the website you are very busy.
Crystal is such a joy. Funny, loving and a bit ornery.....as well she should be. We love her. The "Dogfather" is getting her a swimming pool. ;-).
She sits, comes, goes "potty", goes to her bed,....all on command. She has filled the sadness hole from the death of my beloved Yorkie Cheo. Thank you so much for a wonderful program and the fabulous Aussiedoodle, Crystal. Let us know if we can help you in any way.
Nala turned two today and I wanted to share an adorable picture with you. Thank you SO much for bringing her into my life and all those around me. She spreads JOY to everyone she meets! My sister, K, is interested in a Labradoodle and I wanted to connect her with you (she's cc'd here). You met K the day I picked up Nala. I'll let you two take it from here :)
I wanted to send a quick update on Kaya (CA Cora). She is doing so so well!!!! I have relocated to San Francisco and she is loving life in the city! She has gone to the beach a few times and absolutely adores running around in the sand! She LOVES other dogs, big and small as well as most people she meets, whether on the street or friends/family.
I've attached a few recent photos of her for you. I can't believe she's seven months old already!
Here I am watching the snow storm today in Estes Park CO. This is my motorhome which I share with mom, dad and the Gramma Yorkie. Gramma's okay, but she gets made at me sometimes when I take her chewie. All in all my new fam thinks I'm top dog.
We hope you had a nice Mother's Day. We went to the beach and it was pretty exciting as it was Daffy's first time there. She loved it so much!! It was a fun time watching her and C play together in the sand. Daffy would dig a hole and C would use the wet sand to make a sand castle. What a team! Again, she fits in so well with our family. She's everything we dreamed of and more.
She's such a love!! Will send more pictures. Oh, also removed the chew at night and she is settling well!!
Long over-due email thanking you for Blaze (aka Gerald). He had been an amazing addition to our family. He came home with us so tiny and we can't believe how big and silly he is. He is smart and quite full of himself, and such a handsome, good, dog. I will forward a few photos and will keep in touch. Hope you and your family are enjoying the summer.
Everything is going fine, we're going to try to take more pictures today so I could send them to you, otherwise I would have written sooner. We're in Carmel this weekend and we took her with us to dinner at the Monterey Wharf (in the pet front carrier). She got held by the secretaries in the front office at Gunn while I cleaned out my classroom, and they loved her. She likes the car rides in her car seat. She is doing well with potty training and eating well. The vet said she looked very healthy. We're working on chewing our toys rather than J and E's arms. We've decided to call her Toffee.
Just wanted to send you a recent picture of Honey. She's three years old now and doing great. As you'll see in the picture, she's still as beautiful as ever. She has settled down a little but always has energy to play. We love her SO MUCH!!!
Just an update on our beautiful, wonderful girl. She is 6 months old and continues to amaze us with her loving temperment, intelligence and fun loving nature. She plays with Granny Yorkie so well and wins every heart who walks in our front door. My sister in law from Austin is already asking about your program.
Crystal weighs about 18 pounds and has lost all baby teeth but one. Her left top canine is still in....slightly loose. We wiggle it and check it often. Her coat is so soft and fleecy and is easy to care for. She doesn't smell like a dog ever and is so very attached to me...as I am to her. I went on a trip last week and she, Granny Yorkie and the Dogfather did fabulously. She is an amazing, wonderful family member.
So, Crystal from Texas says....."Thanks Y'all, for sending me to Texas!"
A seriously cute photo of Maverick..he is bigger now...a real loveable rascal!!! I will get more as a collection to send you...I just love this one because of the contrast to the black and white blanket! EVERYONE stops to smile and ask about Maverick...his coloring is a real eye-catcher! People have stopped their cars in the middle of the road to ask about him! An older lady at the beach asked if we "dyed our poodle"!!! Ha!!! I gently educated her about labradoodles and his gorgeous coloring that is "natural"!!! Hope all is well,Dana!!
Just wanted to send you an updated picture of Sadie from her 3rd birthday 10/09. We obviously adore her and are considering a brother or sister. I wouldn't be surprised if C has already emailed you to inquire. Sadie's personality was the best match possible for us.
Wanted to let you know our ride home was fine and Charlie Muffin is adapting so well! She's so so smart! She has the potty thing going so nicely. She has checked out all her toys and beds and has eaten well. I am in absolute love with her! You have done such a great job with her and it has been such a pleasure to meet you and have you be the one to help us find our new member of the family pack.
I'll keep you posted, but all is going great! We are really bonding.
We hope this greeting finds you and your family well. I thought I'd take a moment and forward you some holiday photos that we have taken of Ava over the past few months. M and I can't take Ava for a walk without being constantly stopped to be ask about her. In fact, yesterday we were in Sausalito and met a couple (M, WD and family from Texas) who absolutely feel in love with her. I gave them your contact information as they were so excited to possibly get a puppy like Ava. We spent quite a bit of time with them. I want to make sure that it is okay with you to give people your web site, that are interested. Please let me know.
Ava continues to make us smile on a daily basis. She is laying on the bed with Max (our cat in one of the photos) as I type this. It is their daily routine to sit on M's lap, as he has his morning coffee. M can't think of a better way to start his day off!! Again we can not thank you enough for our Ava.
We hope you and your family have a very blessed holiday season and all the best for 2012,
Just wanted to say hi and provide some current pictures of Max. He has been such a wonderful additional to our lives. He’s loving puppy daycare at Puppy Prep in San Francisco and tomorrow evening is his first official training class though he already knows up, down, sit, laydown, stand and such.
We are constantly being stopped in the streets by people who want to meet Max, pet him or know more about him. You may see an increase in clients from the Mission / Noe area. : )
Almost 4 years ago, we brought home from you the most wonderful, incredible, practically-perfect-in-every-way puppy... California Zuni. We renamed her Meela, and she has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives that when my husband and I started tinkering with the idea of getting Meela a little sister, of course we would want to get her from you! I looked on your website (for such a long time, there are so many cute pictures!) for upcoming puppy information, but I don't find the latest information. We are looking for a miniature, with a fleece coat (but that's not terribly important), in any color. What puppies do you have coming available in the next few months?
Thank you, I really look forward to hearing from you!
Rudy is 14 weeks old today! He is such and great dog and so easy to train. Honestly, we were prepared for a lot more work than it has actually been. He goes to the door when he needs to go potty, can sit, stay, down, shake and high 5 on command and generally knows the rules. He is a naughty boy with my slippers. If he can get to them when they are not on my feet he loves to steal one and run to his bed :-). They are the same color as he is so I always say that he thinks one is his brother and one is his sister. My eight year old R in the picture gets a kick out of that.
Let me just start by saying how much W and I , Love, adore, and cherish her... She is so wonderful and is doing so well, we are all having so much fun..she is so so sweet and loving thank you for allocating Odella/ Snuggles to us it is a perfect fit :)
Snugs is a huge hit at the yoga school, everyone loves her we had to set up a special snuggle area for them to hold her because it was holding up traffic at check in . Again thank you so much we will keep you posted on her success and send pictures frequently...
We are long overdue to send you pictures of our sweet little Mollie. Yes, we thought the name truly suited her so we kept it. She is just the cutest puppy ever, and oh so smart. She is also quite a character and has us laughing at her constant antics. We cannot begin to express how much Mollie has added to our family. She spent the winter with us taking trips to Tahoe and playing in the snow. Now she's looking forward to adventures this spring and summer, with camping trips, hikes, and all around family fun!
We are looking forward to bringing her to an upcoming Doodle Romp. She just LOVES to play!
Hi Dana, I had meant to email you earlier in the week but I have been busy and a bit pooped!
I will send you photos and something for your testimonial page after our college trip
But for now, I just wanted to let you know we have fallen in love with this absolute bundle of joy. What a charmer, as you had said. We are calling him Chewie, and he is just a wonderful delightful puppy, far surpassing my dreams. He seems to love us and be very happy here, and he loves my lab (I hope those photos will be as cute as I think they are). My daughter is happy to come home!
You are evidently a supremely talented breeder – not only is his disposition fantastic, but he is indeed sleeping in the crate through the night and about 50% of the way to being housebroken (well, maybe not that high!) . He now wakes up at about 6 am, loves his leash, and knows his way to the entrance doors after we walk him in the backyard. There are really no problems. He is teething and so he is biting quite a bit, but interspersed with kisses. I don’t know how I am going to leave him for our trip!
I hope you have a great family trip, I will touch base when we both return
We absolutely love him! You described him very well to us. I've attached two pictures.
We are working on potty training, he likes to pee A LOT. Since last Saturday, Sage sleeps through the entire night in his crate.
Sage has mastered "sit" and we are working on "down" and "follow".
Sage has gone to the vet (no parasites), Lexi's school many times, to the pet store, to the shoe store, to the chiropractor's office (for me), and on many walks, all either in our arms or in a baby sling. He really enjoys playing in our yard under close supervision.
Sage is teething right now and that's our biggest challenge. He has his rawhide, three Kongs and many more squeaky toys, but he seems to prefer our shoes, pant bottoms, and fingers instead. I recently bought him a "Chilly Bone", which is softer and can be frozen, and Sage seems to like that as well. Have you heard of or tried "Bully Sticks"? My sister highly recommended them, but I wanted to ask you first. Also, what are your dogs' favorite foods to stuff inside the Kongs?
Thank you, by the way, for providing Sage with a great first 8 weeks!
I just wanted to say "thank you" again for our beautiful puppy! She is a doll and we are so in love with her already. I also wanted to say you have a gorgeous home and business and we are grateful that you are raising such amazing dogs with so much care and love.
Best of luck with the others you are sending off this week. I don't know how you do it. I was so sad to see you say good-bye to Vienna/Posey even though we were receiving her! :-)
