At what age can I start training my Australian Labradoodle puppy? Are they really as smart as everyone says they are?
The answer is YES! and please start their training RIGHT AWAY! Check out the video below (left) of our puppy California Nikolas, now Vinnie, at just 12 weeks of age! The video on the right highlights the progression of what Vinnie has learned by the time he is 11 months old. Australian Labradoodles are extremely intelligent. The more time you invest in their training early on, the better canine citizen you will live with!

We are not a kennel, nor do we ever want to become one. The majority of our dogs live in loving guardian homes
We want each and every one of our puppies to live as cherished and adored family members!
We have three dogs that live with us all the time, and that's the way we like it. That way we have plenty of love to go around
and attention to give when our breeder pups come for a visit or to have their babies.
We are always looking for wonderful guardian homes for our potential breeder puppies and occassionally for an older breeding adult.
Contact us if you would like to be considered as a care family for one of our fabulous breeder pups!
Zena is so beautiful, and will look much like her stunning mama Fudge. Her personality matches her gorgeous looks. She is a mellow girl, loving, sweet and playful all in one unbelievably soft and cuddly puppy. She is eager to please and will do just about anything for a treat. We think she looks like a floppy Moppet. She's extremely sweet, and comical. She is oh so calm. On a hike, she walks right by my side. She follows me everywhere. She plays with Rosie and Nectar all day long, and they have completely adopted her. She has them wrapped around her little paws. Rosie thinks she's the mama and is constantly cleaning Zena up. Nectar thinks she's the Aunt or beloved big sister and is eager to tossle and play games with Zena who is only to happy to oblige.

The dogs and puppies pictured above were recently available to guardian homes. They have now all been placed, and are now happily living in their new homes. We expect to have more guardian puppies available in the June/July timeframe.
Our mission is to breed multigenerational
miniature and medium Australian Labradoodles of the highest quality.
We will always strive to breed puppies that embody the
Australian Labradoodles' inherent qualities and characteristics
in every way. Health and temperament will always be our
first and foremost consideration in selecting our breeding
stock. Our goal is to place
these special dogs in homes or therapy settings where they
will be loved and cherished companions. The Australian
Labradoodle is still a developing breed, and as such no
breeder can predict exactly what size our puppies will
be when they are fully grown.
We will do our best to breed responsibly
and with integrity. We will do this by carefully adhering
to breeding standards that have been set by those with
years of experience in the field. In conducting
our business, we will always put the interest of the Australian Labradoodle
at the center of everything we do. We also pledge to stand
behind you, our customers, and offer ongoing support. We
are doing this because we love the dog and we love the
breed.
Rosie (Tegan Park Emma's Royal Sunset) took
First Prize at the first ever Australian Labradoodle conformation
show held in Malibu, California on September 7th, 2006.
She won in the Open class for females over 18 months. Rosie
was also runner up in the Opposite class for Best in Show.
A conformation show is designed to evaluate
how well a dog conforms to the published breed standard.

Email is the fastest way to reach us. I usually
listen to phone messages after my kids and dogs have gone
to bed and will do my best to return your call the next
day. I answer every email and phone call personally so
please be patient with me! It can sometimes take me a few days to return phone calls and due to the number of inquiries we get, my message box can sometimes be full. I am very good about returning emails, usually the same day, so if you want a faster response, please email me at danae@californialabradoodles.us. Also please note that the quality of our phone service reception is inconsistent and sketchy, mostly due to the area we live in , and I can't always hear the messages, so don't assume I have gotten your phone message if you have left one. Many times all I hear when I listen to a message is static. If you don't hear back from me, please send me an email. It is often easier to schedule a phone conversation with me via email.
We encourage you to come meet us and our
dogs at one of our doodle romps. Once you are on our waitlist,
we will happily schedule an appointment for you to come
and visit. We schedule visits between the hours of 11 am and 2 pm weekdays, by appointment only. We do not schedule visitors when we have brand new puppies. They have no immunities and it makes the new mommas uneasy to have people around their brand new puppies. Once the pups are a bit older, and mom’s hormones have settled down, we allow visitors as long as you follow our instructions to insure our puppies health and safety.
When you come to visit, you are visiting our home. We are not a kennel. We only have three dogs that live here with us. We believe every dog and puppy should grow up in a home of their own where they are a loved and adored and cherished family member.
We have found it to be very hard on our
family to have so many visitors. We get so many daily requests to "meet a labradoodle" that we found we had
time for little else. It takes time away from our dogs, pups and kids. Also, because the pups
live with us in our home, we need to be stringently clean
and careful that noone brings in any health hazards. If
we were to get something like parvovirus on our property,
the results would be devastating. We just aren't willing
to take that risk any longer. However, we totally understand that
you want to meet us and our dogs prior to getting a pup,
so we think the romps are the perfect answer!
Please know
that when you come to pick up your puppy, I will allocate
as much time as you need to visit with us and our dogs,
for you to get all your questions answered, and make sure
you are comfortable with caring for your new family member!
Another advantage for us of the romps, is
that we will invite all the families who have adopted puppies
from us. This will give us an opportunity to see our dogs
frequently as they grow up and stay in touch with our adopted
families, and give you a chance to meet many dogs we have
bred!

Please join us for our next doodle
romp!
Our doodle romps have been a huge success! At our last romp, more than 60 labradoodles and their families came out to join in the fun!
We so enjoy seeing our puppies growing up and reuniting them with their parents and siblings. So many of the humans who adopt our puppies become good friends, and the romp is a big extended family reunion! We also enjoyed meeting many new families who were interested in adopting a labradoodle. I don't know who had more fun -the dogs or my sons and I!
For those of you who aren't familiar with the romp concept, this is a great way to meet lots of labradoodles we have bred and see every size and color all in one place. We invite everyone who has adopted a puppy from us, as well as anyone in the Bay Area who has a labradoodle to come join the fun! What is even more amazing that with as many dogs as we had there was no barking, no fighting, just a lot of tail wagging and puppies greeting old and new canine and human friends.
We will be looking for a new romp location next time around, we've outgrown the Seal Point Dog Park, so if anyone knows of a good spot please email me and let me know!

Our breeding dogs are IALA/ALAA DNA profiled. All of our breeding dogs have been DNA'd and their DNA profiles have been submitted to the IALA/ALAA. This has been done to protect the buyer and support parentage identification. The IALA/ALAA strongly recommends this profiling of its' members and we are proud to be an IALA/ALAA/DNA breeder."
